Sorry for the vague title, but it will be hard to explain this. So you guys know the bat thing when you are pitching? I have come to the conclusion that if the bat stays completely in place, the batter is looking breaking ball throw a fastball or a two seamer in this situation. If the bat moves, even if it is ever so slightly, throw a breaking ball. I know that kind of sounds mixed up, but that's the way it goes. So, yeah, try this at home, tell me if I need to explain it more clearly and also tell me if this has been discovered. Okay? Thanks. |

I could swear that I thought it said "What Hitler is looking for" the first time I saw the title. But this is a good theory. I'll have to try it out sometime. |

Maybe you need some rest dish.  The truth is only I have what Hitler is lookingnfor and I wouldn't be stupid enough to post about it. Yes Hitler will pay when he comes back, (he made horcruxes like Voldemort) but the secret is just too delicious to share with tou guys. But, yeah, try it out and tell me how you do.

Interesting theory. One thing I have noticed is that a hitter with no hot/cold zones keeps his bat cursor still while a hitter with hot/cold zones moves his bat cursor around, usually toward the hot zone or away from the cold zone. |

I don't think your epiphany is correct. I just finished a game against the Twins with your comment in mind, but not one batter moved their bat once - at least not until after I started my motion. No way they were looking breaking ball every pitch, especially since my pitcher, Chuck James, in considered a power pitcher and only has 2 offspeed pitches. |

You have to guess initially. They won't move the bat until after you select your pitch. If you find out that you are wrong just throw it out of the zone, but they will move their bats after you select a pitch. |

Hmmm...ok. I'll keep that in mind next time I play. I thought the bat movement related to the hot and cold zones, like Eric adavis commented. |

I think you're on to something. Throwing a fastball when the bat is still or a breaking ball when the bat is moving doesn't guarantee a swing and a miss, but I think I clearly noticed the hitter taking more pitches (if he had less than 2 strikes) and failing to make solid contact when I threw breaking pitches and his bat moved or fastballs when the bat was still. I'll keep this in mind with my next few games, but I think you're on to something! |

I played a 5 more games against 2 teams and think you are right. Definitely less likely to hit a fastball hard if the bat stays still and more likely to miss an off speed pitch if the bat moves. It's not foolproof, of course - I suspect a CB hitter will recover and make strong contact better than an EE hitter, but I agree with what you noticed and appreciate the tip! |

No problem. Yeah an Albert Pujols will definitely be harder to get out no matter what, but a worse hitter it will pretty much easily work. |
