didn't the IGN say there was no vitality? twice gamespot metions that there is.

It said base running was easy as ever. Wonder if that means they went to "old school" style or if they think the way they had it in 2007 was easy? It took me a while to figure out the whole base running thing. I wouldn't consider it easy as ever.

The part about the Ninja and the mini game sounds pretty cool. I'm even hungrier for 2008. Can't wait!

IGN mentions that there is no resting, but does not say there "was no vitality."

The screen shots of success mode show some kind of vit bar, so it would appear that there is a vit bar, but alternate ways to raise your vit other then the old "rest" option.

The depth of Life Mode seems intresting....being able to marry and choice your kids! I really want to see how hobbies play a part in your stats. What would listening to a CD or going to movie do? There was also a comment about forming relationship with teammates and coaches (IGN I believe), like to see how that plays out.

Don't know about the rest of you but if it wasn't for Life Mode I wouldn't even bother getting 08. For me its the one thing I am looking forward to most; making my success player and continuing in Life.

I'd buy it anyways just for the new success mode, but being able to carry on my success mode character into the MLB is definitely the one thing that the game is really lacking for me.

Yeah, I'd get 2008 regardless just for the new Success Mode, even if nothing else changed :)

Rand, I'm not sure I understand what you mean about not being able to carry your Success Mode player into the majors in the current game? You just register them as a free agent in Season Mode and then add them to whatever major league roster you want. Or put them on an arrange team to enter into Season Mode. Definitely not the same as My Life mode, but it's still 10 years post-college.

I was referring more to a personalized MLB career focused around the success mode player. The season mode is decent, but it's more all encompassing. You can't focus solely on your created character, he's just another player. No extra control or focus on him.
The Life mode basically is what I'm really looking for.

I'm with Wyl in saying that I would buy the new game just for a new success mode.

I'm fairly satisfied with just registering my character on my favorite team. I'm not so sure I want to raise kids and all that, but the part about the contracts and stuff is intriguing. Seeing how good of a contract you can get, or getting traded etc. (maybe)

I will like to see what is the point in buying bigger houses or cars. Is it just for looks or maybe it helps with your growing fanbase? Wonder how having a large fanbase will effect you?

This is the stuff I want to see. Kids wife....I have those time to be single again :D

Notice how it says "a continuation of last years success mode" Maybe passwords from last year will be compatible somehow!

It's a continuation in terms of storyline. In the Japanese versions, many of the story lines coincide with each other. One can only hope passwords are compatible but they rarely (if ever) are.

I wonder if there will be fate cards again this year. Some of the guys that played older versions said that it was a new thing last year. I kinda liked them
