Well, it's been a couple of years now and I am still hooked on power pros 2008 for the wii. I love the season mode, and the balance between playing a fun baseball video game and having some management responsibilities.

I also have a ps3 (not backwards compatible) and an iPad and was wondering if any of you knew games that worked on these systems and were as much or almost as much fun as the power pros 2008 season mode.

From what I gather, there is nothing that offers both, the game playing and the managing, and most of the management games are pc-based. "out of the park baseball" offers a management game for the iPad. Any comments comparing this to power pros? Any suggestions for a ps3?

Thanks.

Baseball Superstars (any installment) is up there with Power Pros on cartoony yet amazing baseball sims. I believe that the most recent ('12) version is free.

Also MLB: The Show is good for baseball. Not quite Power Pros. Maybe too deep if you're just looking for Power Pros.

Several people (including PPFan31) have Japanese Power Pros for the PS3.

I would recommend Japanese Power Pros games, for the PS3.

At this website: http://www.play-asia.com/Jikkyou_Powerful_Pro_Yakyuu_2011/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-49lq.html

They're having a sale too, it's only $60 now, rather than the normal $80!

Won't my inability to speak Japanese be a problem? I mean, I don't care so much about the dialogue, but to know the level of a certain player and how well he plays a position? Same with purchasing items to increase rest or another aspect of the game.

The more I think about it, the more I think an inability to speak Japanese would make the game more work than I want. Knowing which special abilities players have, knowing the settings and how to adjust them, what training items to purchase, and what pitches are what all will be more difficult.

If they ever come out with an English version, I'll be very interested, even if it uses the Japanese league teams and not MLB.

For anyone else that might be interested in the Japanese version, I see they are also selling it through Amazon.

I don't speak any Japanese, nor can I read any. The games have actually helped me with my reading of Japanese.

Honestly, if you can play the English versions, the Japanese ones are no problem.

Exactly. It takes some time to get used to it but it's not too hard. And as for baseball superstars, if your willing to spend 100 dollars on in app purchases just to do good at the game (And this is for the most recent ones: 11', BS II, and BS 12'.) Then go ahead!

I actually have Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Portable 3 and I just tried my first Success mode with it last night. And because of MLBPP and Powerprosfan31's youtube videos I am seriously thinking about buying a PS3 and real Power Pros this summer.

I also got the Baseball stars 12 on my android phone. It is OK, but a loooooooong ways away from Power Pros.
