Just curious about something. Why do power, control, and stamina go to 255 in the ratings? Why do the others go to 15? What do these numbers mean? What do they equate to? Been wondering this for a while now. Is their a statistical equivalent to having 220 power or 200 power? Anyone with any kind of answer or anyone who can lead me in the right direction of this answer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

16-bit memory. The reason it's 15 instead of 16 or 255 instead of 256 is because 0 counts as the first integer. I have statistical equivalents for every stat and special ability - they probably appear somewhere in the message board archives. If not, or if you can't find them, let me know. |

Okay, so I just searched through every one of your 46 pages and 679 posts and I found bits and pieces scattered in different posts. Enough I think to help me out. But if you've got it down to a science, I'd love to see the results. It would be nice to get into the minds of the original developers and see what they did to figure out their results. Not that I necessarily agree with every rating they gave but at the very least I would know what they used to determine how those ratings were given. Thanks for your help. Anything else you can offer here would be fantastic. BTW I love the updates to the game you've provided and now I'm officially a fan after reading over everything you've posted, thanks again. |

Since we're on the subject, why is there a VS Runner 2, but no VS Runner 4? |

CON vs. expected batting average: CON > Low - High 15 > .360 - .387 14 > .348 - .359 13 > .336 - .347 12 > .323 - .335 11 > .308 - .322 10 > .293 - .307 9 > .278 - .292 8 > .263 - .277 7 > .248 - .262 6 > .233 - .247 5 > .218 - .232 4 > .200 - .217 Notes about CON: - The chart shows a neutral batter vs RHP only. - Use vs Lefty 2-5 to account for splits vs LHP (-.070 // -.035 / .000 \ +.035 \\ +.070) - If using real stats to adjust the CON ratings, subtract HR’s, bunt singles and other infield hits from expected avg. Those hits are generated by PWR, SPD, Gd Bunt and Gd IF HTR. more to come... |

PWR vs expected HR rate: PWR > HR 250 > 50 245 > 49 240 > 48 235 > 47 230 > 46 225 > 45 220 > 44 215 > 43 210 > 42 205 > 41 200 > 40 197 > 39 193 > 38 190 > 37 187 > 36 183 > 35 180 > 34 177 > 33 173 > 32 170 > 31 168 > 30 165 > 29 163 > 28 160 > 27 158 > 26 155 > 25 153 > 24 150 > 23 147 > 22 143 > 21 140 > 20 137 > 19 133 > 18 130 > 17 127 > 16 123 > 15 120 > 14 115 > 13 110 > 12 107 > 11 103 > 10 100 > 9 90 > 8 80 > 7 70 > 6 60 > 5 50 > 4 Notes about PWR: - It’s been awhile since I did this, but I believe the chart shows a neutral batter simulated* w/ about 620 PA. - Many, many, many factors outside of PWR impact expected HR rate, such as TRJ, CON, ballpark, batting stance, luck, and a number of different special abilities. - *No doubt a batter with 140 PWR controlled by you or I could hit 100+ homers in a single season. more to come... |

Yeah, I made a guy with 235 power (my highest), and he has the one hand stance. He CAN NOT hit homers to save his life. |

Thanks again for all your help. This makes things a little easier to understand. Any ideas on the others? Fielding? Speed? Stamina? Control? I'd really love to see what you've got for anything you can offer. I see the words "more to come" and am eagerly anticipating. Understanding the processes in the game are making things easier. Thanks a lot. |
