My main data file got corrupted when I was making an incredible success pitcher (who if he had been completed, would rival smiley) so now he's gone

You lost your data to that?

I've had the data corruption messages on mine literally hundreds of times and never actually lost any data to it. Pretty much all you have to do is, when it asks you if you want to delete your data, enter "no" and restart. If you enter "yes", it deletes your data.

I don't think you can back up data to an SD card on the Wii. Or am I wrong?
