after playing this game for 3 years, you would think you've just about seen it all when it comes to gameplay. interestingly enough, i have just now noticed 2 things:

1. the 1st base coaches will do the safe signal when there is a close play at the bag. i've only noticed the 3rd base coach give the "go home" signal and never really paid attention to them otherwise. i was surprised to see this a couple of nights ago. i'm sure most you guys have noticed this...

2. on the PS2 version, you can make fielders walk around or jog instead of run by slightly angling the stick in the direction you want him to move.

have you guys come across anything new (relatively speaking) in the game like this? i know these are both pretty useless and won't give you an advantage during games but it was still fun to stumble across considering that we will probably be without any new versions of power pros for a long time.

I knew the second thing on the PS2, but I just barley move the analog stick instead of jamming it to the edge.

You're right LightningMan117. The angle of stick movement determines if the fielder walks, jogs, or runs. No need to press the stick button in (I corrected my mistake in the Wiki). Up until early last year, I had only used digital controls and had to switch to analog/stick when my pitchers were constantly getting lit up playing on Powerful A.I. difficulty in season mode. I realized in the last month that there was no need to for this extra step with the stick.

Another thing I just recently noticed was a computer outfielder doing a forward sliding catch. I can't recall what player. Maybe a gold glover with special added defensive abilities...

In my life mode the manager has no trouble breaking the unwritten rules of baseball. He pinch hit for someone and brought up my guy when we were up 6-0!
When I was playing a game you can do a catch with a forward roll too.

Since reasing the above and makig the below response, I played a few more games and do not see how you can see the 3B coach give the "go home" signal.

The only time I see the 3B coach is when the ball is in the infield. THe only time I have a runner heading towards 3rd with any chance of going home, the ball is in the outfield, so when would you see a 3B coach give the "go home" signal?

I never paid attention to the 3B coach - do you use his signal in your decision of whether to go home or not? I assume he'd be overly conservative.

Is there any trick you guys use to get to foul pops - they are usually to far away for my OF to get to, and it's eaitehr I get them with my 3B or not at all.
