I'm guessing others of you have noticed out there that, when pitching to an opposing batter, when you press the button to throw the pitch, sometimes the sweetspot cursor stays in the middle, and sometimes, it moves very slightly in a direction. I can normally get an out on a pitch when that happens. Does anyone know why this happens or know any way to make this happen every time?

I think it has to do with the controller, because it happens with me and my nunchuk pretty often.
Unplugging and plugging in the controller/nunchuk fixes it, for a while.

No, not the pitching cursor. The batting cursor of the opposing batter when you are pitching.

I would suppose that it's the batter 'guessing' on the pitch, but I really don't know. Allowing the pitcher to see the batter's guess is stupid.

Agreed. Any pitch thrown to the corner opposite of the cursor movement results in an easy strike, or a weakly hit ball at the very least. It feels like cheating.

But in real life don't teams scout hitters' tendencies? Also, isn't the catcher's job in part to call for pitchers to exploit said tendencies? To me, this is sort of a manifestation of that facet of the game. No, it's not perfect, but good pitching stops good hitting.

Your right, catchers usually call the pitches...That why they should have had a catcher calling pitches and locations...This is in MLBPP09 in my life mode...
