As part of my never-ending League-wide player/roster update, I am trying to figure out who deserves the coveted Intimidator ability. Who I have so far:

Albert Pujols
Manny Ramirez
Ryan Howard
Russell Branyan
Alex Rodriguez
Prince Fielder
Jim Thome
Miguel Cabrera
Adam Dunn
Josh Hamilton
Justin Upton
Evan Longoria
Carlos Delgado
Justin Morneau
Carlos Lee
Chase Utley
Hanley Ramirez
Vladimir Guerrero
Elijah Dukes
David Ortiz
Matt Wieters

Who am I missing? I included Matt Wieters in anticipation of him earning that label during the next several years. Elijah Dukes makes the list because if you bean him, he might kill you. Literally. I don't now . . .

Also, should I include Ichiro Suzuki and Joe Mauer? They don’t hit for a ton of power, but if I had to make a top 10 list of hitters I would least want to face as a pitcher, they would be on it.

Is there anyone from the following list that should absolutely have Intimidator?

Ichiro Suzuki
Joe Mauer
Matt Kemp
Mark Teixeira
Matt Holliday
Adrian Gonzalez
Ryan Braun
Kevin Youkilis
David Wright
Carlos Beltran
Nelson Cruz
Jayson Werth
Aramis Ramirez
Paul Koerko
Mark Reynolds
Carlos Quentin
Carlos Pena
Pablo Sandoval
Chipper Jones
Ryan Zimmerman
Nick Markakis
Jay Bruce
Joey Votto

My list (from the questionables).
I should really print this out to edit the guys.

I suggest you wait on that. I'm almost done with my first master list for the hitters, complete with core abilities and special abilites for each player based on actual statistical data.

Holy crap, OK.
I've edited over 100 players myself, so I'd love to see how far off I was and to see how the dream drafts would then play out.

I'm editing 40 players for each team -- the AL East is almost complete. It's going to be a long process but my goal is to have the edits complete this winter so I can release what will amount to be MLBPP 2010 during the spring for PS2. All you'll need is a memory card, postage and a small fee for my time and effort.

Of course, because nothing good in life is free anymore. (But PP was only $40  )

Anyways, that seems like a good project, hopefully fitting in another success player while you're at it (Get this guy a Wii! )

It will cost much less than $40. MLBPP was only $20 for the PS2, so I'm thinking $10 a pop. However, if 2K Sports wants to buy it from me since ALL of their work will be done and infinitely more accurate than anything they have ever released, it will cost them much, much more than $10.

And I'm done with Success Players for awhile, at least until it's time to make all of the young prospects who can't be edited due to their age. Sheesh. This is going to take for-ev-er.

Do we really have to pay you? I mean I suspect you would charge 2K but us?

I agree with sjax on Youkilis

The guy is like a rattlesnake, literally. With his crazy stance and ability to just explode like that, it's impossible not to give him intimidator. Give him a leather jacket, k-mart sweatpants, and a nightcap and he looks like your local sexual predator. Who would want to pitch to that?

Edit: something more on-topic.

This year I would give Intimidator to Raul Ibanez.

Eric, if you would like I can lend my services to your project though it is of course up to you.

Pablo Sandoval deserves it. If I'm a pitcher, and I see a 250 pound stud walking up to bat, I'm gonna be intimidated

I think we're missing the point of this..

Intimidator is for great hitters who can hit alot of homeruns, not scary. If a guy that is 300 poinds and 7 feet tall and hits .250 with 15 homeruns a year, does he deserve intimdator? no

I'm not saying that they are bad hitters and some of these could get intimator but I think its reserved for those who can hit 35+ homeruns a year like Dunn, Howard, Cabrera, Pujols, A-Rod and etc

Eric if this is the case. Don't you think Jeter deserves it too? So does Pedroia.

Intimidator should be those that can consistanly create fear in your opponent. Example: Reyna for Jacobye.
An Intimidator should draw alot of IBB. And alot of BB, since the pitcher should pitch around him due to the intimidator.
