Hey everybody! I'm playing in the Season mode. So all of the sudden my Starting CF is not playing. His little icon is the slumping purple so I know he is not well. But is he refusing to play? The computer has one of my bench guys starting in his place. How can I help my CF get better? How can I avoid this with my other players? I'm also resting as many guys as I can on Thursdays and Sundays. Do I need to do that? thanks!! |

That's strange. I've never had any of my players taken out automatically unless he was injured. When I have a guy on purple, I may rest him for that game but then get one pinch-hit at-bat, rest him completely, or start him but then substitute later. If he's purple for a while, I'll send him down and bring up someone else. Everybody gets purple at some point, so I don't worry about trying to prevent it. I don't understand why you're picking Thursdays and Sundays to rest players. |

If you have the setting enabled to play player based on condition, the computer will sub out a player if they're purple faced. I can't remember exactly what menu setting it's on, but I think it's where you also set the rest of the auto-play options on the green menu. |

Why I rest my guys on thursdays and Sundays....because I'm a big geek! that's why! ;^) My overall reason is to give them time to recup. I got the idea from when Bonds played with the Giants and would usually take Thursdays and Sundays off. Having played Fantasy baseball for a while, I'm used to a lot of guys not playing Sunday games. What I thought was a good idea was that if my guys had a day off coming up, to give them the day before off so that they had two days off in a row. Not sure if it's making any difference at all. One more thought: My starting CF is slumping purple. Does that mean he's injured? frick, I'm gonna feel so dumb if that's what it means and I just missed the game telling me that he was injured. I bet that's what happenned! dang it! I need to go back and check now! |

No, last time I checked, purple is not green. He's not injured, he's just in a bad mood. If he was injured, you can go to MLB Data ![]() ![]() |
