There are still plenty of questions regarding players/rosters that will not be known until the game arrives on shelves (either in Japan or the US).

For example:

Will Ben Sheets, Pat Neshek, and other players rehabing from injuries be left out of this release?

Players like Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels will no longer be bargains while Jason Giambi and Ken Griffey Jr. will come relatively cheap. What other player salaries will the downturn in the economy affect this year?

Considering how many good players are still unsigned, the Free Agent pool at the beginning of the season could become the most important part of starting a season! Will Manny Ramirez be on that list if he's still not signed by the time Spring Training ends?

Which players will benefit/lose the most from their 2008 performances (in terms of player abilities/qualities)? Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur could take a huge dive while players like Cliff Lee and Josh Hamilton should see their abilities rise.

Which rookies or 2nd year players will become the most sought-after, lowest priced players in the game? Geovany Soto? Jay Bruce? David Price?

I've also included a poll on whether people will buy the newest release.

Man, yeah, lots of questions this year. I plan on buying the game first day like I did last year.

With the five Success modes, maybe two of them are the 07 and 08 versions, which should mean they have PW compatability, right? Man, I hope so!

I don't know if I should. I may want to trade 07 in because I don't know if my parents'll let me buy the new one. *sighs heavily*

That's a good idea dishnetkid. I'll either trade it in or sell it on eBay. I love having it still, but the only reason I still have the original is to look back on my old accomplishments, season mode rosters, etc. and nothing else. I don't turn it on anymore to play it, so I might as well sell it.

I hopefully will get it. Might actually buy it for both systems so I can make players for both systems.

Though I'll probably get it about 3 or more months after release like I did with the past two games. So that way I can get some good abilities on my first try instead of creating another sub-par second baseman. XD

Golden Apples is a completely new storyline based on the screens. You'll probably be able to play on 4 other teams in the same league (AAA).

another reason to keep 07 is to play some games at RFK :)

Did I miss something? When was 09 announced? Do we know anything about it yet?

You did not miss anything, because it announced only for a week.

I'll be picking this up the day it comes out. Maybe it will just be another slight upgrade but I think this game is a blast and I'm willing to support good products. If you don't then don't complain if they disappear and all that is left is something very mediocre like the MLB 2k series.

I'm pre-ordering this. I love the PP series. I hope they have an Online Roster Update.

Wait, can we pre-order it already? I'm just going to go to Gamespot, Best Buy, and Target and hope I get lucky.
