Not the NPB version in other thread,
it is really the MLB version:

To be released on 29 Apr in Japan,
http://www.konami.jp/pawa/major2009/?ref=pawa
(Offical site)

5 Success stories this time,
Golden Apples were brought back as well,
and Japan Version finally have an editing mode and face feature now.

I'd think 2K might bring them to USA in Summer.

Update 18 Feb:

"WBC Mode" is confirmed,
unlike the World Championship mode in Success Mode
the all 16 teams and players will just like what they are in March.
(I hope they will use a seperate set of data if they belongs to MLB or NPB)

Which means, likely Tokyo Dome and Foro Sol will be two of the hidden ballparks

Also confirmed a screenshot that having a close-up system installed
Close-up system: a system in Japanese version (15th) give more advantage of teams trailed by the opponent. Likely to be activated by clitch, bases loaded, and turning points.

Fate cards...awesome

Face editing...awesome (hopefully various head shape selections)

Wifi....awesome

5 success modes...sounds cool but I don't really get it??.

Sounds like pretty much everything I wanted. Can't wait!

Thanks for the link!

BTW- I thought the MLB Power Pros (even the one imported to Japan) always had facial features? I was under the impression it was the NPB versions that never had those features added.

I saw the picture... check #6 of 8... the last one is the GalaxySharks. So, I wonder how this works.

And, um, alanwong43, do you speak/read Japanese? Because I just wanted to make sure that you aren't just assuming based on the context. If you can't read Japanese, DOES ANYBODY HERE UNDERSTAND JAPANESE?

Although still not a grade 2 (I mean the international examination in December),
but at least I could read the offical web/magazine contants there.
Sadly I could hardly spoke Japanese as there was no oral examination in that examination and no one could practice with me.

The offical web don't have much information this time,
(Usually Konami's offical web don't have much update until the month before release. Famitsu's usually having more information on that.)
Now the offical only mentioned these things:
-Roster Updates and estimated player data in 2009 season opener
-Editing Mode (Japanese version's tradition don't have one)
=This time Japanese version can edit batting/pitching form, and Basic/Special Skills.
=Faces restructing invidial players this time, not only in Success Mode (Not sure if face can edit because they don't said that, but likely yes)
-5 Different Success Mode Stories, the Success Mode continues on Minor League once again, the first story can be played is Golden Apples (team appeared in MLBPP08)
=(Note: Different Stories - Different set of event and training style, might have unique one)
=(And according to NPB veresion, the remaining need to be uncloked by finishing it)

So the only thing I could do is wait the next issue of Famitsu to come.

===
Maybe I will explain how success mode with multiple story works
Most of the NPB series' success mode have this system
(Since this is the general rule, so this may be vary from the actual MLBPP09)

- All the Success story happens at the same timeline, unless stated. (For example, in NPB's series 11, the Japan National Team Story are set on the last 2 months in the Year 4, rather that starting in year 2)
- New players starts out with first story, for this case, the Golden Apples
(Spoiler: Looks like Golden Apples will have a default rival, and for NPB version's tradition, the one will always be the rival unless you play in his team)
- Finishing good endings (being promoted to MLB) unlocks the next story playable on next time (or some cases, all at once)
- Each team will have their unique set of teammates, leading to difference of events and training styles (In Japan version, the first selectable team basically have no unique training command), some team might have a practical training.
-And the outcome is, each teams have its own pros and cons developing with pitchers/fielders.
-Konami code is likely can be used to unlock every story at once

Finally, I've been waiting for this.

I also noticed they're finally releasing OUR version, complete with player edit and face graphics, which the Japanese gamers didn't have.

it'd be cool to see who can make the best players in each mode.
there has to be at least 1 throwback mode or something, with old characters

I wish there was, but I don't think it's going to happen. Although I though the third silhouette might have been the Tulips, I don't think it's likely. Anybody want to compare some of the other teams to see if they match? I am almost sure the fifth one is the GalaxySharks, since their logos match almost exactly.

Oi, time to plan more changes for the Wiki  At least now we've gotten over the growing pains of the 07 to 08 versions...

DS, if you seriously have any problems, I'll handle them with you. I think I can pencil you in between when I work on my Success players and my Life players... Seriously, I'll do anything you need, as long as it doesn't affect my future financially.

Some new layout ideas for the front page would be ideal, to make it easily searchable by the eye and clearly illustrates and contrasts each version. Maybe we'll have a contest for the best layout design and the winner will have their name in the footer of the front page.
