They have passwords available on their site for the Japanese version, but naturally they won't work on our version. I'll just post the stats for anyone interested. Not that I necessarily agree with their evals (Cautious STL for Cliff Lee? How many times was he even on base this year??), so take it for what it's worth. I'll keep this post updated as they release more passwords. That's great that they do that, if only they did for the U.S. version. |

NICE good find! I edited Evan Longoria, Pedroia, Matsui, and Manny before hand and they looked alot like these. |

Star doesn't do much as an ability, its just for popular players or brand names of the franchise, which the above listed are. Longoria, Upton, Iwamura, Crawford, and Kazmir are really the brand-name players of the Rays. Jeter, Matsui, A-Rod, Posada, Wang, Joba, Mariano, Damon, Abreu are all brand-names too. |

Sweet Jebus! Daisuke is a monster! Hard Slider at 6 and cutter at 4?!? You could seriously mess with a human batter switching between the two of those. |

Post subject: | Re: Konami's Official Player Updates |
thanks for the post. updating my game now as i see fit... some of these updates seem exaggerated, for instance: -iwamura's speed increase to B from a C? he's quick but only 8 SBs on the year -ichiro's power bumped up to a B from C (only 6 hrs) and speed is now A(14)? he's fast but not on the level of juan pierre or jose reyes which also have a speed of 14. -another oddity is that ichiro still has a "poor day game" ability. i changed it to "good day game" since he batted .326 this year and is .332 lifetime in day games! there seems to be alot of inaccuracies with the good/poor day/night game abilities in MLBPP 08 and even more strange as this stat category is straightforward. -they updated ellsbury's power to B but 9 hrs this year and only .394 slugging ![]() -matsui's power is updated from B to A (while being injured a good portion of the year and only getting 9 hrs, slugging numbers down) and then run speed from D to C with 0 stolen bases on the year?! -nomo is one of my favorites. i have some good memories of watching him pitch in the 90s but i will keep his stats as is just to keep pace with current skill and abilities. 2 questions. what pitch is SFF (for Matsuzaka)? also, did they really change manny ramirez's abilty from "pr small ball" to "gd small ball"? that one also seems wrong. |

There were some more on the page. Maybe they're updating rapidly? I'd post them, but Google Translate can sometimes be unreliable. I mean seriously, what ability is called "strike force"? And what the heck is ballistic 2? All I know is that currently, in this order from top of the page down, the new ones are: - Derek Jeter - Albert Pujols - Alex Rodriguez - David Wright - Kosuke Fukudome (I think) |

I assumed SFF is split-finger fastball. Daisuke's splitter isn't very impressive though. In fact, I think he's mostly abandoned it. |

I'm beginning to lose interest in these updated, as they're obviously juiced beyond Konami's standard evaluations. It seems they're allowing users to vote on players abilities and the results are partially reflected in the updates. ChiCubsFan4 wrote: There were some more on the page. SFF is Split-Fingered Fastball. Fixed to SPLIT. Confirming Gd Smallball for Ramirez. What!? Why does Jeter have stealing 2? He got pick-offed for the second time in his career this year and the first time in like 10 years, but other then that he has no problems. He's a very good stealer and I can't remember another time he got caught. It makes no sense, you can't judge that by one bad game. |
