Just wondering, because as much as I like this game, I get very bored playing against the computer. Seems almost indefensible that the 2nd version (2008) doesn't have net play.

No one knows yet. Although there is a 2009 fix thread in the 2008 general discussion.

Is there any sense when 2009 will come out? Probably not until spring or before XMas?

for next years' version im guessing probably late 2009 after football season starts! (considering power pros '07 was released just after the 2007 postseason and power pros '08 in the 2nd half of this years' season)

Mid 2009 would be the most likely. I'd like a June or May release, but July is most likely.

2K doesn't want to be competing with itself. MLB 2K sells more copies, so it always goes out before the season, MLBPP in mid season.

I will still get it, even if it has no online play.

It would be disappointing if it doesn't have online, but these games are really to rake in extra money to make the next MLB 2K.

Still, July 20th sounds about right to me. Maybe later, because the code for making a WHOLE new success mode each year must take a while... So, Late July-Mid August release, I guess.

well yea i've been playing online since the days of Xband on the SNES, this is a major disappointment to say the least. absolutely no reason to not have online play for yet another year on the best baseball game on the planet when they are completely capable of making this a reality. even 2K's 2nd priority baseball game The Bigs has online play. about the sig.. if we get enough gamers to get 2K's attention then it could happen.

Here, everybody who wants to have online post your name at the bottom of your post on this thread. If we get enough people, 2K Sports will hopefully give the game Online capabilities. Since we can't get your actual signature, this is the best we can do.
