I've seen a few posters mention that jamming some combination of buttons will make runners on the bases go a little bit faster. I can't find it in the manual or posted around here. Does anyone know what to hit on a Gamecube controller or have I simply misread some posts?

B and Z on Wiimote/Nunchuck. I would guess the shoulder buttons on the Gamecube controller.

Do you have to alternate them of just jam one or the other?

haven't I already answered this?

Mashing the buttons as fast as you can seems to work for me. If I start thinking about alternating, my C run speed guy will get nailed.

Really just mash them really fast and it'll work. It does take some practice though. And before any PS2 players can run out and create a topic like this: press L1 and R1 for ps2.

1000th post!!!!!!

What about on Wii Classic Controller? I still haven't figured out what to press.

Probably 2 shoulder buttons but I don't know what they would be.

Does this only work for base runners, or will fielders run faster as well?

I noticed that it worked great on MLBPP 2007, but on 2008, I haven't noticed it having any effect. Are the button combinations different for the two different years? I tried looking for that information in the forums, but didn't have much success.

It seems to still work for me this year.

I believe it has no effect during the success mode games since you do not control anything except for pitching and hitting (expect for the last game if you get rid of the Rookie Charm).

I constantly press the "Y" button on the Wii Classic Controller, but I don't think that does anything. I just do that because I THINK it helps.

My brother doesn't know that it helps and thinks I'm crazy for doing it. So I don't tell him.
