My starting pitchers are REALLY struggling to go deep into a game, and it's because they're throwing a lot of pitches to get a lot of strikeouts. Strikeouts are good, but not when my pitch count is shooting up like crazy and my starting pitchers are only pitching 5 or even less innings. So how do I get batters out in 1 or 2 pitches? |

When the hitters are patient there's really not much you can do. Otherwise there's the extremely unreliable method of pitching down the middle. |

Yeah, that method always seems to work in success mode if I'm pitching, but I was afraid to try it in season mode because I thought it wouldn't be smart to do that against major league hitters. |

Well I just discovered a strategy to actually get batters out and not give up hits. This is an already known strategy, just a strategy I usually have failed at. Vary the types and locations of the pitches that you throw. I've always had a tendency to get into a pattern and throw specific pitches in specific locations, on certain pitches of at-bats. In the game I'm currently playing, Rich Hill, my starting pitcher has only given up a couple of hits since giving up two runs in the 2nd inning, and he's looked very strong since giving up those 2 runs because of this strategy I decided to go with. |

Well, depending on the patterns you use, the batters will either dominate you, or just whiff at most pitches. Shoot, sometimes, I mess up and realize that I've been using the same pattern so that I went through the line up twice using the same combos and locations. Then, when I go to one of my other strategies, they somehow start making contact! But yea, basic fast, change and deuce will do the job just fine. |
