I was sooo much better at last years success mode when it came to making great players, it might've just been that I had a ton of patience/time(I didn't do any school work last year so I had nothing else to do). I have been thinking about trying to make an awesome player this year but just haven't gotten good enough at it.

Well, I finally cured this. I got determined yesterday to make an amzing pitcher and have. I'm not done yet, but I have him at these stats on Jan Week 2 year 2:
102 mph
132 sta
139 ctr
Lvl 7 slurve
Lvl 4 v-sld
Lvl 1 snk

I plan on reloading for a good job operation, and getting 4 maxed out pitches(add a sinking fastball), and possibly give him good batting stats.

Very nice mate, he definetly has the potential to be one of the elite. My hope for 09 is that they really just recycle an old Japanese Success Mode and edit the cultural references and jokes more personalized to the Japanese. I'm sure they are much better then anything the Ammerican only writers will come up with.

Thanks, I'm at the hardest part now, reloading for goodjob. I've maxed out 3 pitches and my sinker is a level 2 or 3(April week 1). I really hope I can get goodjob easily, but I know I can reload for him because he came up at the beggining of the game when I was reloading for Jaw(I faled the operation though). I agree with the success mode idea, I want it to be interesting and it definitely seems like the japanese games have more interesting success modes, as long as it's not too much other stuff.

I think the time you could spend loading for two successful Dr. GJ and not sign the contract is less than the time you will spend trying to load for 1 signed contract Dr. GJ.

On Average of course. You could get lucky right out of the gate and get it to go through.

Just something to think about.

I ended up not going after Goodjob. I did copy my main data save to another memory card so I can choose to go a different route than I plan on going if I want to. I have 4 level 7 pitches, 105 mph a couple abilities(abilities aren't huge for me). I plan on making him a great hitting pitcher now, and then I may use the one on the other memory card and continue making him a better pitcher.

I've only actually played 2008 but I like the look of the 2007 storyline, it seems like more happens and things aren't quite as linear.

Although judging from the openings, the pawapuro storylines look much better. I hope we can get something along those lines too.

i hated the cards last year. i do agree with apple, i muted the music for the final game this year because i had to play the final game 5-7 times just to pass...

There at least needs to be way more REs next year. The cards preferably but it looks like some people don't like them for some reason....

I loved the cards because it made it harder.

If they make it even easier than it is now next year, I will stop playing because it's just not a challenge. (I'm pretty much over it this year already)

I can understand people want to be able to make multiple characters fairly easily, but for me personally, I just like the challenge. Plus, if you want a lot of characters, you can just edit them.

I guess it's a pretty difficult task to please everyone.

Good luck Konami! Don't let me down next year!

I doubt I'll even get another version of this game. Unless they make success mode fun again, there's no point to. I can arrange rosters however I want(which I don't rely on this game for my MLB fix). I have tons of players already made, and I don't see what else they can really change that will make it really good(except succes mode like I already stated).

Yes, me getting the game will be almost compleatly dependent on reviews, most of all odwali. Success mode matters the most, even more so then online. Online isn't enough for me to buy the game by itself, but a killer success mode+online+an updated My Life+updated Season Mode stats is enough.
