Wow, just followed it up with another perfect game by... Anibal Sanchez! a pennant clinching perfecto vs. the Braves in Game 4. 1-0 Marlins on a Hanley homer.
2 perfect games in consecutive starts... in the postseason... wow.

AWWW! I just remembered! My best Perfect Game would have to be game 4 or 5, actually, game 4 of the World Series: Giants at Angels, I'm, pitching for the Giants. I went 11 innings without a hit or error, finally my team actually scored, and it was right when they took me out, CRAZY!

No perfects, But I have gotten several 1 and 2 hit games which lead to shut outs. I have pitched complete games with no walks, and a few of those are 1-2 hit games.

I did come close once, frigging Blake broke it up in the top of the 8th at Comerica.

I was wondering if any one has gotten a perfect game in either Exhibition or League mode with manual defense? And how many K's you got in that game? To me, it's close to impossible to get a perfect game with low number of K's....

Well I didn't do it but CC Sabathia, who is on my team in my life, had a perfect game with 24 K's. Talk about dominant! He usually has 20+ K's per game and has a 0.6 something ERA.

Well, mine weren't no hitters, but like 2-3 games of 2 hitter ones and plus one 1-hitter were on manual defense. I swear I'm slowly getting better at shut outs, because I RARELY walk anyone. Even power hitters.

I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but it comes close right? Right?

No perfect games or huge strikeout games yet in '08, but I got several perfect games and one excellent strikeout performance in '07.

I haven't walked any one since I played '08. In League mode, I played as Mariners aginast the teams in AL East. My routine against the power hitters in that division (A-Rod, Manny, Ortiz) is to pitch inside, mixing fast balls and breaking balls. That's mostly enough to stirke them out. It's the little guys who invariably hit those no-way-to-catch-it come-backers that get me to give up runs.

BTW, I think playing Life as a pitcher can improve your manual defense. The non-stop pitch-hit-defense cycles give you a better sense of where the ball may fall and which fielder would be in play in manual defense.
