Hi All,

Assuming a pitch is already at "level 7", does anyone know if specific
pitches benefit from a different arm angle? IE is a slider more effective
(bigger break) from side-arm pitcher, etc? Same question for the kind
of stance the batter has. Does it make a difference?

I don't think that it is like that in Powerpros, but from what I've learned from watching and playing Baseball, Pitches look different and can sometimes be more different from different throwing styles.

EX: A submarine curve goes up, then downward. An overhanded pitcher throws the curveball just downward.

I don't have any pitchers with a pitch at more than a 4, but it does seem to be that sidearm/submarine pitchers do get more movement on their cut fastball and slider, and that overhand pitchers get more drop on the DCB (not sure about the regular CB)

PS, I find that submarine fastballs to the top of the strike zone are extraordinarily effective without having to truly pinpoint the corners

The extra break is an illusion caused by point a (release point) being different and point b (target) being the same. In other words, to hit the same target with the same pitch, a sidearm pitch has to cover more lateral distance and an overhand pitch has to cover more vertical distance. So a sidearmer's slider is going to look extra slidery and an overhander's drop curve is going to look extra drop curvy.

I picked up a pitcher with no sideways pitches. Throws a 2SFB, SPLT, CHG. I think i'll try to change him to sidearm during the spring to get some lateral movement.
