Actually, it's 'kamikaze' and, yes, that is exactly what I meant.

During the 7th inning stretch, a group of WWII-era Japanese dive bombers crashes in to the stadium, and if your success mode character is able to survive, Dr. Goodjob appears and gives you 'gyroball', 'genius', and 1,000,000,000,000 points AND a REAL girlfriend. Is that awesome or what??

Are you lying or what?

I was wondering that too

He's kidding. He's referring to the options screen for season mode that goodways posted on page 12 of this topic, near the middle.

While 風 means wind by itself, 日本風 means Japanese appearance or style. If you take a look the other screenshots, you'll notice the Japanese style of SBO (strikes/balls/outs). The other option for that setting would have to be the American style of BSO.

I'd be happy to explain further. Which part of it is not clear to you?

This is the options screen in question.

The second option is the one that SPE777 was referring to. The option value has three kanji characters. The first two means Japan and the third means wind. This is why he thought it meant Japanese wind.

But that third character can also mean appearance/style/look, which it does here. The setting name is (something) display style. (I don't know that first kanji.) Since this option is the selected one, there's more information in the description at the bottom of the screen. I can't make out most of it, but you can clearly see it mention SBO. This is how I figured out what this option is for.

For the season mode options screen, the five default options shown are:

face type: player original face
display style: Japanese way [strikes/balls/outs]
batting camera: normal
pitching camera: behind batter
fielding camera: follow

good point. 2K will probably have us reeling with anticipation until after the all-star break while mlb 2k9 and the show 09 drop in time for spring training. as always

I would have to agree. I assume the same team that makes the Japanese version would also make the American one? If so, MLB PP development (essentially just retooling the existing game) would probably not start until the Japanese one had already been completed, right?

Either way, I'm surprised none of you have gotten on to facebook and done a search for "2k sports". I'm sure you can find someone who works for the company on there--ask them!!

I took your advice and messaged somebody named Andrew Blumberg. I doubt he'll give me the time of day, but here's to hoping.
