I'm playing mlblife on mlbpp2008 (wii version). After my 5th season, I noticed that my abilities decrease after anything I do.

Stealing, power hitter, spray hitter, contact hitter and a few other abilities go down after every time I rest, chat, or do any hobby, as well as after games. This started right after negotiating a new contract.

Does anybody know why this is happening? It seems like my player is sick or something, but I can't figure out how to fix him. He has no fatigue and usually at least half vitality. He's not injured.

Anyway, it makes me not want to play the game because I am struggling to maintain my abilities when I should be increasing them.

First off, welcome to the forums!

Second: I found out, when doing my dad in MLB Life who is around 30 or 40-something, that age is a big factor to abilities. How old is your guy? Also, the vitality may be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. Ugh well my guy is in his 40s now, so if that is the cause I might as well give up on him. I was worried age might be the problem. I wanted to see how well a 60 year-old could play in the majors.

I don't think vitality is the problem because this started happening in the offseason when the vitality was completely full.

Your players can only go up to age 50, or 20 years in the majors.

I'm having a similar problem in my season mode. I'm only in my second year, but Andy Pettitte is having big time problems. I don't quite get it because his stats haven't declined at all, in fact, they've actually gone up a tad. He's only 36. Still I can't get him to thrown a fastball faster than 86 MPH. And, his curveball which last year was absolutely nasty, seems to barely have any movement. Anybody have any clues as to what is wrong? If his stats had gone down I could attribute the problem to age, but that's just not the case.

probably has something to do with motivation or fatigue.

Yep his fatigue bar is way high, as is the rest of the team, which is odd because it's been like that since the start of season 2. Did the team not rest during the offseason?
