I haven't been on here for a few months and while I don't plan to buy it right now in favor of skipping a year, is there any news on the 09 game? I couldn't find anything on the 2K site, but generally dedicate fan-sites list this find about it first after a small site finds some sort of leak or something like that.

Well, nothing I know, except I've heard a couple sources on here say that 2K is eyeing an Opening Day release.

You mean MLB 2K9? I'm actually thinking about getting that this year and getting power-pros the next. I believe their buisness plan is to release small features each year even though they have the technology and resources already implemented in the Japanese games to have more features, like MLB 2K's have always had a lot less then they were capable of. So, I thought if I skipped a year, I'd get twice the new features. With some games like these, I go back and forth between two series each year/release.

That makes sense. And no, I meant MLBPP. I heard it form somebody else, and may or may not be true, so... I hate this indecision!

No, that's impossible as it hasn't even been announced yet (I just looked for it online), so I don't think you friend was telling the truth. If it was 2K9, then it's possible, but I think it's in March. I wished all these games came out during mid-early off-season, I miss baseball too much then. I know they don't know who will sign with who, but you could just have a lot of free agents and roster updates. It won't happen because it wouldn't make sense from a buisness perspective and releasing them right before/right after people get back into/excited about baseball will make the most sales.

2K9 is coming out somewhere in March. I think MLBPP09 comes out in like June/July because of sale clashing.

Yes, that's what I thought. But it was from a reliable source on here (you know who you are), regardless of the sale clashing. So sad we have to wait.

VG Chartz says 2008 has now sold about twice as many copies as last year's version.
