Anyone have any idea on what has an effect on how often a pitcher throws mistake pitches? I know being tired obviously greatly increases the odds of it, but aside from that. Does control have any effect on it? The only pitcher I've used that ever had worse than F for control seems to throw them way too often, to the point of throwing two in a row down the middle without being tired.

Always remember the fat pitch ability increases it. Captain Crush seems to throw a lot of mistake pitches too. Not two in a row, but often enough to get annoying. I was wondering if it was because of the maxxed out original knuckleball. Maybe higher lvl. pitches increase it?

I'm pretty sure fat pitch and safe pitch just change where mistake pitches go, not how often they happen. That's what the descriptions of them say anyway.

You might be right about control having an effect on fat pitch %. Also, it seems batters with Intimidator coax more fat pitches from pitchers who don't have Battler, but I can't back that up with any evidence.

What I've noticed with basic pitching controls, the more you crank up a pitch or the more you shift around where it's going to be, the more often I threw mistakes. But I play with expert controls, which just pretty much when my timing is off the mistakes will happen

I think that not only will a batter with "intimidator" trigger more mistake pitches to that batter, but also to the batter in front of him.

I think that the longer the at bat goes, the more mistake pitches. In other words, if a pitch might go through 6 batters without throwing a mistake pitch if they put the 1st or 2nd pitch into play, if the at-bats last 5-6 pitches, each batter is more likely to see a mistake pitch.

Also, a pitcher getting rocked throws more mistake pitches
