With all these spam bots lately, I really think we need a Captcha system during login to prevent many of these spammers. |

Have you ever been on a site where you have to enter random numbers and letters to login? Well that's what Captcha is. And it prevents computers from logging in and becoming members. |

Umm, we sorta already have one. Log out and pretend to register. You'll see a "conformation code" at the bottom |

The Captcha system is pretty bad, I've been using stopforumspam.com to filter a majority of bots, but these latest ones are getting past the filter. Fighting these things isn't easy |

DarkShade wrote: Fighting these things isn't easy I second this statement. I was deleting the majority of bot posts earlier when I got home from work. There were at least 20-30 of them that I deleted, just to clear it up a little bit. Spambots are nasty little SOBs, I tell ya... |

So far I am banning known spammy IP and email addresses, so we won't have repeat offenders. Best thing to do is just ignore them for now. |
