--BREAKING NEWS--
Former Brewers GM Doug Melvin has stepped down just days before the opening of the MLB season, due to "personal issues". Taking his place is the young and unproven 26 year old Kilian Boland. Boland says he has big things planned for the team, and hopes to turn the Brewers into a perennial playoff contender. We will have more on this story as it develops.

In other news, manager Ron Roenicke has announced his starting rotation and starting lineups a day before the season begins.

STARTING LINEUP
1. Carlos Gomez CF
2. Norichika Aoki RF(Khris Davis every 10th game)
3. Ryan Braun LF
4. Aramis Ramirez 3B
5. Jonathon Lucroy C(Martin Maldonado every 6th game)
6. Rickie Weeks 2B(Ryan "Scooter" Gennett every 5th game)
7. Jean Segura SS
8. Yuniesky Betancourt 1B(Alex Gonzalez every 3rd game)
PITCHER

**Khris Davis will bat 6th acting as a DH at American League ballparks.

Roenicke seems to be looking to keep oft-injured 2B Rickie Weeks healthy by giving him a rest every 5 games. Promising second base prospect Scooter Gennett looks to get big playing time and will have to produce to keep his spot. Acquisition Alex Gonzalez will also get healthy playing time at first base until Corey Hart returns. Youngsters Khris Davis and Martin Maldonado will also see playing time, mixed into the starting lineup.

One obvious flaw in the lineup of Milwaukee is their lack of left handed hitters, with Aoki being the only regular to bat from the left. This could be a weakness that teams try to exploit moving forward.

And now, for the starting rotation and bullpen.

STARTING ROTATION
1. Yovanni Gallardo
2. Kyle Lohse
3. Mike Fiers
4. Wily Peralta
5. Marco Estrada

BULLPEN
MR: Chris Narveson (also emergency SP)
MR: Tom Gorzelanny
MR: Brandon Kintzler
MR: Jim Henderson
7th inning: Burke Badenhop
8th inning: John Axford
CL: Mike Gonzalez

The starting pitching is a slight concern, but the offense looks to have enough fire power to fight for a playoff spot. Good luck to this year's Brewers!

Brewers' owner Mark Attanasio has informed GM Kilian Boland that he expects the club to have a winning record this year.

Also, in a preseason rankings, the Brewers' farm system has been ranked a generous 22nd in the league. The Twins, Pirates, and Red Sox hold the top 3 spots.

Experts predict the Brewers to finish 2nd in the NL Central, with a 83-79 record, but yet miss the playoffs even with an expanded wild card slot. The Reds are predicted to capture first in the Central, with the Brewers 2nd, then the Cardinals, Pirates, and Cubs.

Hopefully the Brew Crew can prove these projections wrong and capture a spot to play in October!

April 1st, 2013- The Brewers started off their campaign at home against the Rockies today. Yovanni Gallardo was on the hill for the Brewers, and struck out the side in the first, but also gave up two hits and walked Michael Cuddyer with the bases loaded to put the Brewers down 1-0 before they could even bat. The Brewers struggled to get the bats going, and the Rockies struck again in the 4th with a groundout by Carlos Gonzalez with Dexter Fowler on third, which scored a run. Lucroy answered in the bottom of the 4th with an RBI triple to the right field corner, scoring Braun and cutting the Colorado lead to 1 run. In the 8th, the Brewers finally got the tying run, with a clutch 2 out RBI single by Aramis Ramirez to score Gomez. Gomez was not able to come through in the bottom of the 9th with Betancourt on second, striking out to put the game into extras, tied at 2-2. Carlos Gonzalez crushed Milwaukee's dreams in the top of the 12th, with a 371 foot solo bomb to right. Charlie Blackmon added to the lead with an RBI triple 2 batters later, making it 4-2, Rockies. Matt Belisle struck out the side in the 12th, shutting the door on the Brewers and giving them a 2-4 loss. Carlos Gonzalez earned player of the game honors.

Injury Update
April 4th, 2013- Rickie Weeks was injured in the Brewers' 4-1 win over the Rockies last night. It hasn't been released what the injury is, or how serious the injury is, but we will be sure to release that information when we hear. Weeks was 3-12, batting .250, with 4 strikeouts to start the season. Scooter Gennett will take his place starting at 2nd base until Weeks can return.

Also, in other news, Rickie Weeks was placed on the DL after being diagnosed with a hamstring strain, and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Jonathon Lucroy is day-to-day after bruising his wrist behind the plate, and Betancourt is also day-to-day with a hamstring strain.

After 5 games and 3 injuries I turned the injury setting from "Normal" to "Low".

The Brewers lost 2 out of 3 games to the Diamondbacks in their second series of the year.

Game 1: Scooter Gennett hit a walk-off double in the 9th to score Betancourt and give the Brewers an exciting win.
Game 2: Braun goes 3-4, but Badenhop gives up 2 runs in the 7th to sink the Brewers, who left 10 men on base.
Game 3: Gallardo strikes out 12 in 8 innings, but gives up 3 and earns a loss. Brewers muster only 4 hits, Khris Davis hits a solo homer for the only run.

Yes, the Brewers will be facing their hated rivals, the Chicago Cubs, in their next series. The Brewers need to win this series to stay above .500. Lucroy may make his return to the starting lineup this series, but it looks like Betancourt may need a few more days after this series. Hopefully the Brewers can get healed quickly.

April 9th, 2013- It was a blustery 41 degrees for today's match-up at Wrigley. Weeks, Betancourt, and Lucroy were all out of the lineup for injuries, and Aoki was given the day off from RF. With Ramirez on third and Segura on second in the 2nd inning, the Cubs decided to intentionally walk Maldonado with 2 outs to bring up Mike Fiers, the pitcher. The move didn't exactly work as planned though, as Fiers snuck a chopper past Castro at SS into left field. Ramirez and Segura would both score, and Fiers gave himself a 2-0 lead to work with. Gennett led off the 3rd with a double to right, but was thrown out at home trying to score on a Ramirez double. But, after moving to third on a passed ball, Ramirez would score again on a single by Alex Gonzalez. The Cubs added a run to the scoreboard in the 4th, on a solo homer by Alfonso Soriano, making the score 3-1. Things remained 3-1 until the bottom of the 9th, when pinch hitter Dave Sappelt hit an RBI double off of closer Mike Gonzalez to cut the lead to 3-2. Gonzalez came back to strike out the next two batters though, and end the game. Mike Fiers won player of the game, pitching a solid 8 innings and only giving up 1 run alongside 9 strikeouts.

The Brewers were able to sweep the Cubs in Chicago, and improve their overall record to 6-3. Scooter Gennett made the absolute most of his playing time this series, going 9-12 with 3 RBI's and 3 runs scored in the 3 games at Wrigley.

Game 1: Kyle Lohse threw a 7 inning shut-out, leading to a 2-0 win.
Game 2: Mike Fiers threw 8 innings of 1 run ball, and also had 2 RBI's, helping lead the Brewers to a 3-2 victory.
Game 3: A grand slam by Lucroy in the 5th inning helped lift the Brewers over the Cubs in a 6-3 win.

With an early season check of the standings, one would find that the Brewers trail the Cardinals by 1 game of the division lead, and hold the first wild card spot. The Crew will get a shot to take first place, with a big weekend series in St.Louis starting tomorrow.

So, how does everyone who is following like this log? I think the screen-shots look nice, and are super easy to do. It's much easier to just take a picture, rather than have to type all that out by hand. :)

Leave a comment if you have one. I've been enjoying this log so far, and it's really easy to update.
