Name: Pete Grossman
B/T: S/L
Position: 1B/DH
2 strengths: Hitting/contact, power
1 weakness: Speed
Bio (optional): Born and raised in Massachusetts, Pete attended Lowell High, where he is currently a sophomore. Grossman has two younger brothers - Frank, 13, and 8-year-old Colt. His best friend, Peter Smith, is also a sophomore who pitches and plays the infield on the baseball team. Pete's left knee was completely blown out in middle school, and he still struggles with running. He always gives 100%, no matter what he's doing. He is also 6-foot-6.

February 13,2013

"Come on Pete! You don't want to be late for baseball practice." My mom yelled at me from the kitchen.I grabbed the front door, threw it open, and ran to catch my ride. My best friend, Peter Smith, had gotten his license a few weeks ago and was going to drive me to practice.

When we got there, I started warming up with Peter. After a few minutes coach called us over and started talking to us.
"Okay, since it's the first practice of the season we're only going to do some hitting and fielding. Pete you're up first."

I ran to the dugout, got my bat, helmet, and gloves out, and stepped up to the plate. Peter was on the mound.

"All right Pete, you're going down!" Peter yelled from the mound.
"In your dreams. This one's going over the fence!

Peter throws a nasty fastball and a mean curve. What do you do?

A. Swing at the first pitch and hope it's a fastball
B. Wait for a fastball
C. Wait for a curve
D. Quit game

Peter threw me two curves before throwing me a fastball. I made solid contact and sent it over the centerfield wall.

After everyone finished hitting, we did some fielding. Coach was hitting grounders around the infield when he hit a ball down the line towards me at first base.

What to do?

A. Dig a hole and cry like a baby
B. Run away screaming
C. Dive and hope it doesn't hit you in the face.
D. Quit game

You should've chosen A

I dove toward the line hoping the ball wouldn't hit me in the face, and to my suprise the ball went in my glove. Practice ended a few minutes later and after a closing speech, we were sent home.
