So, the new movies thread. It'll go like this... You will give your movie that you are reviewing an amount of stars (1-5) Les Miserables: 2.0 This movie was very boring to try to watch the whole thing. It was a long movie and wasn't much of an interesting movie from a kid's perspective. The movie also had multiple sex-ish scenes which definitely wouldn't make it a young kid's movie. The movie definitely deserves it's rating of PG-13. The movie also has an okay storyline which gives it the 2 star rating. |

Zero, nobody here is really a "kid". Make it more from a teen's or young adult's perspective |

Well by kid, I mean 12-15ish years old. It's really boring for teens but might he of interest for adults. |

Les Miserables I give a 2.5. I give it this because musicals aren't for me. I also think that Cassette had a TERRIBLE voice. No offense, but yes. I give it the .5 because I though the little boy did a wonderful job. Adults would like this movie. More on the female side for watching I would say. 12 year olds and up |

I'm going to give my top ten movies of the year, then I will give a full review of Lincoln if I see it again tomorrow. Here it is, 10.) Moonrise Kingdom (Hilarious. Bruce Willis needs to do more stuff like this) 9.) 21 Jump Street (Who knew Channing Tatum could act?) 8.) Life of Pi (Beautiful. Especially since I wasn't expecting to much out of it.) 7.) Seven Pschyopaths (Very self awae and funny. Also, Christopher Walken.) 6.) Looper (Great time travel movie that focuses on the characters more than the time travel) 5.) Lincoln (Daniel Day Lewis IS Abraham Lincoln) 4.) Skyfall (Not as good as Casino Royale, but in the top 3 Bond movies. Javier Bardem plays a great villain.) 3.) The Avengers (More of an experience of seeing five build up movies pay off BIG TIME) 2.) Argo (Ben Afleck is the best Actor/Director in Hollywood right now. Don't agree? Ar-go f*ck yourself!) 1.) The Dark Knight Rises (Amazing ending to one of the best trilogies in cinema. Christian Bale gives his best performance as Bruce Wayne and is backed up by an amazing supporting cast, great directing, good action and amazing cinematography.) |

It was a declassified true story about the 1979 hostage crisis so Ben Afleck's character has an idea to make a fake movie to get the hostages out. |

Oh yeah I remember that, and they did a "movie", to get the people out. That was a good movie. |

Django Unchained: 4.5 stars out of 5. Django fails to reach the lofty bar set by Inglourious Basterds (one of my all time favorite movies), but it might just be the 2nd best film Quentin Tarantino has ever produced, which says a lot. It's a true Tarantino bonanza in spaghetti western style, which means lovely visuals, terrific dialogue, scenes that stand on their own, and plenty of Tarantino's trademark cartoonish gore. In fact, this is his most gruesome movie ever both in terms of real and animated violence, if you can believe that. The character played by Christoph Waltz, a German-born bounty hunter named Dr. King Schultz who travels the country disguised as a dentist, is nearly identical to his famous "Jew Hunter" role he played in Basterds, but the shoe fits and he wears it well. Jamie Foxx is absolutely perfect as the vengeful and newly freed slave Django. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the sadistic slave owner Calvin Candie, but this probably isn't going to be remembered as one of his better roles. For better or worse, his scenes are overshadowed by his right-hand man Stephen, played by Samuel L. Jackson. The movie drags a bit as it nears conclusion, but the overall quality and sheer entertainment of the film make it more than bearable. Definitely worth the price of admission to watch it on the big screen if you can stand a few exploding skulls and many, many buckets of blood. |
