The Powerball is up to 550 million dollars today as people are scrambling to try and win the cash. Although, the odds of winning are 175,000,000-to-1. To put that in perspective, you have a 5,000-1 chance of getting struck by lightning at some point in you life. But back on track, the lottery. After taxes, the money will only be about 375 million or so, but let's just stick with that half a billion dollar figure. If you won 500 million dollars, what would you do with it?

Take the lump sum, so ~$275 million.

Keep $100-ish million, and split up the rest between my family and friends, and charities.

It's funny you brought this up, my mom/dad were talking about how they should split the Powerball/lottery between 10 people/families instead of one person. That way you can affect 10 families instead of one.

Yeah I amsplitting up through, my family, my aunts family, my grandpa (who is in dept, and my mom DOES not want to help them, but she will [It is hard to explain]), my uncles family, and my close friends family

Share with my family, pay off my loans, splurge on a few small items, go on a long vacation, and invest the rest. Oh, and get everyone here a PS2 and copy of MLBPP 2008.
