PREFACE: --- So I decided that yes, Washington is too easy to overachieve with, and that I had the recruiting difficulty too low (so now both difficulties, game and recruiting, will be on All-American, one step below Heisman), and thus I took a step down. 3 steps down, to be exact. My school of choice, after much deliberation, is the University of Buffalo, or University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, or whatever you wanna call it. I'll probably just call it UB or U at Buffalo. They're a 1-star prestige school in the MAC with a decent team but not decent credentials, although Packers halfback James Starks is a notable athlete alumni. I'm going to make Washington my personal dynasty, to have fun with and to rape other teams with and all, but I just feel that this will be much more interesting, being the tale of an underdog's long climb to the somewhat-top. At this point I just want to get into the log, so I'll report on some stuff in the preseason and all, but definitely give me suggestions as to how to make this log stand out. I don't want a carbon copy of Purple Haze, other than it being a smaller school, so let me know what you want. Narrative? Cool. Pictures? Cool. Whatever else? Fine. (No videos, though, because that takes a bit much dedication on a few fronts) Right now, I'll leave you with the Buffalo Bulls' schedule, after a little adjusting on the front end (14th week is MAC Conference Championship): Attachment: IMG_0299[1].JPG [ 294.72 KiB | Viewed 6458 times ] And yes, I had to make that matchup first week. ![]() Again, any suggestions to make this one worth it would be great, and I do hope you forgive me for eschewing Cole Marceau and Co. for these not-so-green pastures (but I'll make them greener, and that's the point ![]() |

I was thinking you were gonna go with a MAC school. Just wondering: what was Western Michigan's prestige? Just curious, with my home-area being relatively near there and whatnot. |

As long as there's narrative... you could make pretty much any team interesting. |

What made you think that, out of curiosity? 2. I actually basically had it down to Buffalo, a couple small Florida schools and then western teams like UTSA, New Mexico and San Jose State. I basically picked Buffalo because I liked their logo, their playstyle looked decent, and they have a 90 OVR running back somehow, which is fantastic for me. 3. Western Michigan is 77 OVR in the game but with 1 prestige. And alrighty, I'll try to do a narrative. I'm skipping the preseason stuff for the most part though, probably just one recruiting thing. I might work on a prologue-ish thing later, I just want to get into this now. ![]() Skittle: Yeah, I definitely wanted an in-state rivalry game like that on the sched, so Syracuse was perfect. |

Sweet! And by chance, was one of the small Florida schools UCF? Or was it even smaller? |

Even smaller: Florida Atlantic. 1-star prestige and 60 OVR. (Buffalo, by comparison, is 71, iirc) |

I probably thought of it, since the MAC is a pretty...low-middle-of-the-road type of conference. Heck, in 10 season playing as WMU in 09, I got them to #1, and in my last season, made the move with the team to the Big 10. But Buffalo's a good choice. Good luck. |

I was really tempted to go with a WAC or even low-end MWC team (New Mexico?), but in the end I liked Buffalo best. Also, if Buffalo does get to a good point, the Big Ten will probs be the conference of choice. Big East suckssssss. ![]() Thanks, I'll definitely need a bit of it. Aiming high but am prepared for disappointment, especially with recruiting. B- in Academic Prestige, Proximity To Home, several key pipeline states (NY, PA, FL, GA, MI and OH, iirc... good stuff) and the obvious tons of Playing Time will be my only advantages to work with. |

OSU!!!!!!!!!!! I really don't care if you pick OSU, but for god's sake DO NOT PICK MICHIGAN! |

I meant that as in a conference to switch out of the MAC and into, not a new school to choose. Also, Michigan > OSU. |

Dropping this topic after this line, but whether you want it to or not, that totally says Michigan is less than or equal to OSU. ![]() --------------------- --------------------- The colours all over Alumni Arena were cool and blue, but the welcome was a bit more warm. After all, Heath Lefevre was the young new football coach, a do-it-all man with charisma and brains, not to mention an ambition as wide as the galaxy. Management thought he was the man to lead Buffalo to the top of the MAC; Lefevre thought himself the man to lead Buffalo over and out of the MAC (Big Ten, perhaps? He'd always been a Pac-12 guy growing up, but unless the city up and moved to SoCal that wasn't happening). When all the hand-shaking, greeting and introductory lecturing was done (which took only three days), the University of Washington grad finally sat down at his desk for more than 5 minutes (give or take) to analyze what he had to do. Scheduling had been taken care of as he arrived, and the thought of playing his alma mater in his first game as coach still made him smirk. He'd already met with the team about a dozen times over, and made sure to especially get on the good side of one Danny Downing, the superstar running back and unquestioned team leader. He'd redshirted some guys who definitely needed the extra year, which just left recruiting... Heath checked up on the names that so far were interested in Buffalo as soon as he could find the list, and read over the names on there. All two of them. Neither of whom was even on any radar. They weren't even 1-star recruits, more like .5 star. (A/N: 40 and 44 OVR. ![]() It was only now that Heath Lefevre realized that he had a lot more work to do than he'd initially thought. |
