Okay, it's not like its actually gonna come out but I just thought it would be fun to discuss stats for NFL players on an A-G scale and blue abilities and such. Here's the layout

S-100
A-80-99
B-70-79
C-60-69
D-50-59
E-40-49
F-30-39
G-0-29

PPJ or PPFan can correct me if I am wrong. I am going to want help on what stat categories would be appropriate for each position.

QB- Pass accuracy, pass power, speed, etc.

I think the categories would have to be different for each position. For example:

QB:
Speed
Throwing Strength
Throwing Accuracy
Awareness
Carrying (Fumble Resistance?)
Agility
Run Power

RB/WR/TE:
Speed
Carrying
Catching
Agility
Run Power
Blocking

OL:
Speed
Blocking (I have to imagine PP would consolidate this into one stat rather than run blocking and pass blocking)
(Not sure what else...)

DL:
Speed
Run Stop
Pass Rush

LB:
Speed
Run Stop
Pass Rush
Coverage
Catching

CB:
Speed
Coverage
Catching

This is just a rough draft, I'm thinking we might need something like acceleration for all players to go with speed, since that so much affects the physics of the game.

Simplicity is key for the primary abilities. As for the blue/red/green abilities, now that's where the real fun begins. Fumble Prone, Brk Tackle 4, Spiral 2, Juke Box, Decleater, Iron Will, Aggressive COV, Aggressive BLK, the options are endless. Probably the best way to start creating a comprehensive list would be to look up key football statistics and skills, then dream up the appropriate ability for each one.

I can think of many more including Smart QB, Hard Hitter, Durability 2.

Don't forget Longball Passer, Pinpoint Accuracy, Hands Of Glue, and Muffer.

How bout butterfingers for receivers? Tends to drop balls at times. Examples are Wes Welker and Victor Cruz.

As for the topic at hand, I can't really think of any good abilities. Maybe Lockdown Corner or something for players like Revis and Ballhawk for players like Reed

I'm not really feeling the "Butterfingers" name, but maybe something equivalent like Hands 2 and 4?

Wouldn't catching be better as a regular ability?

I could see there being catching and drop prone, similar to how there's error resistance and error prone.
