Since AgentP is doing a Colts log, I might as well start my own with the Jets. The New York Jets haven't won a Super Bowl in over forty years. That was when Joe Namath guaranteed a victory in Super Bowl III against the heavily favored Baltimore Colts. After a disappointing 8-8 season, GM Mike Tannenbaum and Head Coach Rex Ryan are determined to put the best team out there to bring home a Super Bowl. They picked up a couple Safeties in Laron Landry and Yerimiah Bell, and of course, they traded for Tim Tebow to help out in the Wildcat department. The biggest pieces they lost were WR Plaxico Burress and RB LaDainian Tomlinson, who went on to retire as a Charger. They draft a DE in the first round in Quinton Coples and they draft a WR in the second round in Stephen Hill. Mark Sanchez is developing to be a good QB, especially when in the playoffs. He's won 4 playoff games on the road, which speaks volumes. His main targets will be WR Santonio Holmes and TE Dustin Keller. Sanchez hopes to get the ball to Holmes a lot, considering Holmes was complaining about not getting the ball. But, when he does, all he does is make plays. The problems in the offense comes from the RT position. Yes, they did trade Wayne Hunter to St. Louis recently. The main who replaces him will be Austin Howard, who should play better than Hunter did by letting pass rushers get to Sanchez. The Jets OL are looking to protect Sanchez A LOT. The Jets went 0-4 this preseason, which is frustrating, but look at some of the positives: -Sanchez's completion percentage this preseason is 13 points higher than his career -The 1st team defense looked really good However, there are some negatives: -The RT position -WR depth (Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley, and Chaz Schliens were all hurt at one point in the preseason) So since preseason is over for the Jets, might as well start with Week 1 versus the Buffalo Bills Here's my projected starters: Offense QB M.Sanchez 79 RB S.Greene 86 FB J.Conner 84 WR S.Holmes 90 WR S.Hill 66 WR J.Kerley 75 TE D.Keller 87 LT D.Ferguson 92 LG M.Slauson 80 C N.Mangold 91 RG B.Moore 79 RT A.Howard 65 Defense LE Q.Coples 75 DT S. Pouha 93 RE M.Wilkerson 83 LOLB B.Thomas 78 MLB D.Harris 89 MLB B.Scott 86 ROLB C.Pace 85 CB D.Revis 95 CB A.Cromartie 87 FS L.Landry 88 SS. Y.Bell 83 K N.Folk 75 P T.Conley 77 KR/PR J.McKnight 82 Yes, agents are aloud (up to 3). IT'S GO TIME! |
