Post subject:  The test99 Success Mode

Now this is an idea I've had for a long time, even before I was in this forum. For MLB Power Pros 2009 I wanted the Success Mode to start you off when you were a kid or at least in high school. I presume they did this in Japan, but I'm not sure.

Here's the scenario. You're at the age of 13 and you've been playing baseball for four years. You love the game and you're entering another bright season if Little League. But this year, your parents have to move to another city. You are going to be tossed into another team, and they have no knowledge of you. Respect is something you're going to have to earn.

Name the following:
Name
DOB
City
Parents
Siblings (optional)
Closest Friends (please name personalities, age, and if they play baseball)

Pitcher or Batter? Or both?
Name skills (please if you make a pitcher and a batter combination do not make skills higher than a C. Pitchers make your speed something a 13 year old would throw. It will eventually become better.)

As you enter different stages, your attributes will decrease (entering high school as a Freshman or entering college as a Freshman) and you'll have to practice more.

Hope you guys choose to participate and enjoy!

P.S. I'm still doing the Choose Your Own Adventure. Expect one soon

Is this like a one-player game?

I'll take it!

Name: Jayson McDougal
DOB: November 22, 1998
City: Boston, Massachusetts
Parents: Robert McDougal (divorced; mom is Linda Miller but she has moved to France)
Siblings: Adam McDougal, younger brother (12 years old) who idolizes Jayson. Plays baseball as a 1B (?). 1 trj, G con, G pwr, D run spd, D arm str, C fld, D e res, Timely Whiff, Throwing 4
Closest Friends: Shane Gomes (A bit of a hot head. 12 years old, plays baseball. B contact, F power, G everything else, plus GD Pinch Hitter) and Tim McCarthy (Very relaxed, 13 years old, doesn't play baseball.)

Jayson is a L/L starting pitcher. He throws at about 85 mph (yes, already) with F control and B stamina. He also throws a level 1 Circle Changeup.

Bio: Jayson is pretty arrogant and a bit of a rebel but there is a reason. Before his parents divorced, Jayson was perfectly behaved. After the divorce, however, Jayson decided he hated the world. He shaved his own hair into a Mohawk and started cussing. Jayson likes playing video games, like sports games but also shooters.

Yeah it's like yours AgentP. Oh and I've decided to everyone in high school and at the age of 14 or 15. It makes the story easier

Name: Anthony Palmer
DOB: May 18, 1998
City: McMinnville, Tennessee
Parents: Bobby Reed Palmer II (Everyone calls him Reed, was pitcher in High School), Vanessa Palmer
Siblings: Andrew Palmer (11 years old, plays baseball as P, C, and 1B, is a star, Contact a D, Power a B, Running Speed an F, Arm Strength an A, Fielding and Error Resistance D, Trajectory about a 3. Throws about 65 mph at current moment, has lvl 1 CB and DCB.), Alexander Palmer (8 years old, enjoys video games, doesn't play baseball), Aaron Palmer (4 years old, plays T-Ball, has good arm and Power).
Close Friends: Logan Dorrell (14 years old, doesn't play baseball, great at video games), JD Keele (14 years old, plays baseball with Anthony as a P, C, and 2B. E contact, E power, D Running, Fielding, and Arm Strength, F Error Resistance, 2 Trajectory, Timely Whiff, Grt Catcher), Tyler Beaty (13 years old, doesn't play baseball, is 6'1" and great at basketball)

Anthony is a R/R closer that throws about 78 mph, has a lvl 2 ORIG SLV he learned from his dad, and a lvl 1 CCHG. He has a B control and F Stamina, has good spin on his pitches (Spin 4), and consistently throws strikes (Consistency 4).

Bio: Anthony is a kind boy who was born near Nashville, Tennessee, and moved to McMinnville at the age of five. He learned baseball from his dad, and has played second base, shortstop, first base, pitcher, and third base in his lifetime. At the age of thirteen, his dad taught him a pitch that he learned in high school. Anthony would go on to use that pitch in the state tournament for the 13 year-old all-stars for McMinnville, having a situation in which he needed 4 outs, and struck out 5 and forced a groundout. The reason the inning wasn't over sooner was because his catcher (not JD Keele) couldn't catch his Slurve. At the age of fourteen now, he's raring and ready to go.

When the players have, such as, A power they aren't going to hit homers out of major league parks but a Middle School field. Feel free to edit your players.

When the players transition from High School to college, their abilities would decrease. The only abilities that wouldn't decrease are SPD, STAM, TOP SPD, and ARM STR

(I don't know if I can actually do this, but it could be an innnnnteresting storyline if I can do this. I can edit if need be.

JoAnna is a very athletic young girl from Detroit who learned to play sports from both of her parents, who were stars in both baseball and softball. Her best strength is her outfield arm, and her changeup, which has a very mysterious movement to it. Her and Robert are very good friends.

(I hope to God you keep this log up, because this sounds like a good idea that shouldn't be wasted. Just sayin'.)

Post subject:  Re: The test99 Success Mode

I'll jump in on this (by the way, this was done in Jikkyou Powerful Pro NEXT for the Wii, and it is, by far, my favorite Success Mode.)

Name: Stephen Edwards
DOB: June 22. 1998
City: Baltimore, Maryland
Parents: Jonathan Edwards (a fairly famous defense lawyer, 37), Susan Edwards (schoolteacher, 36)
Siblings: Danny Edwards (19, plays college ball, doesn't see much of Stephen), Laura Edwards (6, dreams of becoming first female MLB player)
Closest Friends: Larry Sherry (14, plays baseball, 3rd baseman, C contact, A power, C run speed, C arm, D fielding, C E res, a prodigy, but, is also quite humble, has known Stephen since 1st grade), Amanda Smith (14, very intelligent, and tends to keep Larry and Stephen in line)

Skills:
SS
L/R
TRJ: 2
CON: C
PWR: F
SPD: C
ARM: B
FLD: D
E RES: D

Bio: Stephen is your average shortstop, a bit of a hot head, and also a bit conceited. Despite that, he's very accepting and understanding. But, when you get down to it, he's not that bad a kid. He aspires to either become a professional baseball player, or to become a better lawyer than his father is. He also idolizes his brother, which fuels his aspirations in baseball. Inside, he's conflicted, but he is sure that when the time comes, he would be able to make the decision.

He lives by the phrase "what happens happens."
