Today was the first day of high school baseball tryouts. I was very excited and couldn't wait for school to end. I was talking to my best friend Tristan Owens and he seemed very excited. They aren't many students at the school so there will only be one team, Varstiy.

At tryouts

Coach: Hey everyone I am coach Steve. Today we will take a look at everyone's power. Because that's what are school is known for.

I watched a couple others hit. They were hitting bombs. They were mostly juniors and seniors.

Coach: You're turn Dukes.

Decision Time
A) Swing for the fences
B) Try to make solid contact
C) Bunt the ball
D) Tell coach you're not feeling good

A. The team thrives on power and the best way to show how much power he has is to swing for the fences.

The first pitch the coach threw to me I took a big swing and missed. I did the same on the second pitch. On the third pitch, I hit a deep fly ball to left that went over the fence for a home run. The fourth pitch I hit another deep fly ball and it bounced a couple times before hitting the fence. My last pitch, I hit a bomb to left-center and it bounced over the fence. Coach yelled, nice power.

After tryouts, I decided to go to math tutoring. A smart freshman girl named Katrina Banks, also very hot, tutored me. She gave me her number to call her in case I wanted to be tutored. And then, I went home.

Week 2 of January
Today coach said we would be working on live batting. I was hitting off of a freshman, Edd Bacon. He only threw a cutter. The first pitch he threw an up fastball that I took for ball one. He then threw a cutter that got the low-and-outside corner for strike 1. I then swung and missed on a slow 77 MPH fastball.

Decision Time
A) Look fastball
B) Look cutter
C) Take strike three
D) Bunt

A. He'll probably try to make me look silly on the same pitch.

Post subject:  Re: Eric Dukes (A One-Player Game)

I was expecting a fastabll and that's what he threw me, I waited cuz it was only about 78 mph and crushed a hard liner down the third baseline and got a double out of it. Coach yelled from the dugout "Nice hit Dukes!"

Decision Time
A) Look fastball
B) Look Slurve
C) Take strike three
D) Bunt

Post subject:  Re: Eric Dukes (A One-Player Game)

A. He probably feels like overpowering me with a fastball, plus he probably thinks I'll be waiting on the slurve after 2 straight misses.

Post subject:  Re: Eric Dukes (A One-Player Game)

I was expecting fastball and was out in front again as he fooled me with another slurve. I luckily made contact and grounded out back to Marco. Coach said, "That's okay Dukes, he is the best player on the team."

Technique points decreased by 2.
