On this log I saw a couple days ago there was a discussion about fantasy points for players to make the game a little more fun. I thought I'd create the system for that. I'll encorportate this into my logs. The best players in each category will win awards:
Silver Slugger - Best Hitter
Cy Young - Best Pitcher
Fireman - Most RELIABLE Reliever
The Thief - Most Stolen Bases
Gold Glove - Fielder that gets plays made
MVP - Best overall player
Anti-Lebron Award - Most Clutch Player

Batting
Single - 1 Point
Double - 2 Points
Triple - 3 Points
Home Run - 4 Points
Stolen Base - 2 Points
R.B.I. - 2 Points
Walk & HBP - 2 Points
Run Scored - 2 Points
Strike Out - (-2 Points)
Out - (-0.5 Points)

Pitching
Win - 10 Points
Loss - (-5 Points)
Hold - 5 Points
Save - 5 Points
Emergency Save (An Emergency Save is when a reliever is brought into the game when the tying run is on second base or further and the winning run is either on first or at the plate) - 15 Points
Strike Out - 2 Points
Walk & HBP - (-3 Points)
Run Given Up - (-5 Points)
Home Run Given Up - (-10 Points)

I'm pretty sure I covered everything. If I missed anything tell me and I'll add to it.

Seems like the points taken away for walks and runs given up are a little harsh. According to that, a guy who pitched 7 innings and give up 2 runs would get 0 points, and that's if he got the win.

Yeah, make homer -5 points, and earned run -2 or -3

Good point. I'll adjust it a bit. Take a look at it in 5 minutes. If I don't fix it, read this again.

I feel like I have to advocate for less emphasis on wins and losses. Pitchers have too little control over that. Also, maybe give something small like 1 point or even a fraction for each inning pitched?

@detriottigers15 Thanks, but I've used this system with a couple of my friends. It just needed some fine tuning. It's been a couple of years since I used this, but I think I got everything.

Do you guys think that I covered everything?

Ok, I tested this out on a couple batters and a pitcher. I had to use your second one due to the fact that it's hard to find stats pertaining to how many innings were scoreless and how many RBI a player got from the seventh inning on. So using the formula, with Josh Hamilton I got 342, Carlos Gonzalez 346, and Jose Bautista got 397. And from Matt Cain I got a whopping 445!

These jokes are now irrelevant. Sorry, but he's got a ring. Maybe Anti-Carmelo or Anti-Dwight.

Maybe, but the Heat pulled a Yankees. They bought themselves a championship

Post subject:  Re: Agent Fantasy Points

I think walks and strikeouts (for hitters) should be +1 and -1, respectively.

Again I must state, all three dudes took less money than they were offered from other teams to join up. The Heatles win this round.

And, d-tigers, I think walks should be plus infinity. Yeah, they're THAT hard to come by.
