Post subject:  MLB Scouting

I've had this idea before, and thought, "Why not introduce this?" So here's my idea. If you go to a game, or watch one, or read anything, write it down. Also, feel free to add your own comments. Oh, and also, try to use Power Pros terms (V-SLD vs. slider with tilt, etc.)

Together we can compile some sort of scouting report of all the pitchers (and maybe hitters) in the MLB!

I'll start.

Went to a game the other day.

Kevin Millwood:

-Hit 91 mph once or twice, consistently at 89 (92 top speed?)
-Seemed to throw some sort of hard offspeed pitch (2sfb, cut, splt, sifb) occasionally.
-Threw an eephus (or played long toss with catcher) while waiting for LF Figgins to come out one inning [had to switch gloves?]
-Good stamina (high B/low A)
-Yesterday threw PART OF a no-hitter. 1 walk, 6 IP. C control? high D?

Derek Holland

-Can hit about 96mph (98 top speed?)
-Throws a SCB and a CHG. Level 3 each?
-High B stamina
-Recovery 4 definitely. Recovery 5, even.
-Consistency 2 (likely the entire Rangers' staff other than Darvish and Nathan)
-E control? Low D?

Yu Darvish

-Same top speed as Holland. 96-98.
-C control, A stamina
-Throws the following:

2SFB, CUT, SLD, SCB, CB, SPLT

And is working on his 8th pitch, a KN. (Confirmed)
-Good fielding (C's and D's)
