I thought I'd share this with you, if you played Final Fantasy 3 (6j) for SNES or PSX, AND if you ever watched Full Metal Alchemist, you'll totally dig this video. I normally don't share everything I find but this was too cool to keep quiet.

I've owned many Final Fantasy games but some I never finished because I would try to get everything in the game, and would eventually become bored with it before I could actually beat it.

The last two I owned were the ones that you played blitzball, and also the one that you raised chocobos and raced them. Both pretty fun games to play. I've been thinking about getting the new Final Fantasy but I don't know if I'll play it that much with it sitting next to Mlbpp 08'.

ah, blitzball. That would be FFX. My roommate in college had that one, and he got to blitzball and lost the storyline game. I told him to reload and won, in overtime. The story game is extremely hard because Wakka is the only guy who can score and Tidus is a major hinderance because he has no skills (yet). I eventually worked it out for my 5 guys to have nearly all the abilities and dominate the league, playing when roomie was in class at a local save point (those are really amazing, zipping you across the world to play a game without jet lag).

Sadly it was FFXI that ruined my roommate (that and a few things that I cannot mention on this forum) who eventually dropped out.

The storyline game was the first one right? I remember that WAS hard. None of my guys had very good skills.
I had the book, so I recruited all the best players and the games became extremely easy.

FF VII was probably the best game of my lifetime, so far at least. The storyline, Materia, video clips, characters to pick up,depressing/armageddon theme...probably the best game ever for me. I played it non stop in high school, and it changed my life.

The other ones since that have been a bit weirder, too many chicks and girlish things, and FF XI online I didn't want to pay for. I'd love to play some of the FF VII follow-ups they had - haven't gotten around to it yet. And I think it was on DS only?

I played some others, 3 and 5 maybe on SNES? God I can't remember which ones now. Some really good ones. But VII blew away everything a video game had ever been.

Final Fantasy 7 was pretty darn fun. It controlled my life for many months. I remember how fun it was to try to breed all the different colored chocobo's. The materia setup was awesome. There was tons of content, but not so many side missions to where it drove you insane trying to keep track of them all.
Just talking about it makes me want to go to my mom's house and try to find it in one of my old boxes. Very entertaining game.

FF6 remains one of the best games ever, I think. Just today, I was contemplating doing my best 16-bit Kefka laugh, but didn't for fear that people would think I were having a seizure in the bathroom.

FF7 is still really awesome, too. You cannot deny the following statement: It has the greatest mini-games ever. I could seriously spend all day in Gold Saucer without blinking. Road Rash, submarine war, arena battle, snowboarding, MOG HOUSE (!), chocobo racing, stupid basketball game I was never any good at, roller coaster shooter thingy... I want to go play it, now.

I like almost all the FF games, personally. I'm disappointed that 12 gets such a horrible trashing regularly on places like GameFAQs, though. I really enjoyed it, and think it's a huge step forward from 10. I'm not certain I want to go into why I feel that way, though, because every time I've done so in the past, people who hate it string up a hanging rope for me.

Anyone see that Final Fantasy XIII is no longer exclusive to the PS3? They are releasing it on the Xbox 360 at the same time here in the US. Great news for me (since I don't own a PS3 but have a 360)

FFVII is great.

Blitzball was easy if you learned the Jet shot on the ship when you meet your fathers ghost. *I believe* I know I put in over 100hrs in that game. Had every legendary weapon and all even did the dodge the lighting bolts* pain in the butt*

I however do enjoy Xenogears better than FFVII.

Xenogears is one of my favorite RPGs ever. I spent so much time with that game, it's not even funny. I daresay it molded me into the man I am today.

Well, not really, but yeah. I liked it alot.

I did the lightning dodging and all that other stuff too. Very frustrating. But I remember I quit playing it because I couldn't find one specific enemy to catch. I caught every other one in every area, and spent several hours trying to find the last one. But I couldn't.

I'll have to look into Xenogears. I've never played it.

It's a very difficult game to find for a good price. Last time I saw it, it was going for about $110 on average.

I didn't care for VII at all. In fact, I find many RPG's dull since the switch to 3d. They've lost some of their charm - I think it has to do with the sprites. IV, V, and VI had a dark story line, but the cute sprite cut scenes kind of made fun of itself and kept you from taking the story way to seriously. Now, it's all emo, and Final Fantasy takes itself way, way to serious.

The best transition I've seen to 3d so far is Dragon Quest VIII. They kept the same feel to their game as the NES and SNES games. I also found the monster arena in DQ III to be the most fun mini-game I've ever played. Betting on which monster would win was so addictive, I would sometimes play the story up until that point, and then just spend days playing the casino. Sad, I know.

I got Xenogears in the Final Fantasy Chronicles (or anthology, I can't remember which) for only like $20 or so.
