That was tough, but come on, give him a break. Anyone could have grounded into a double play, and those were two hard defensive plays he would have had to make. That first one was a high hopper that I think he might not even have been able to make throw fast enough even if he made the play cleanly, and that second play, the ball was hit pretty hard, he didn't have enough time to react.

I'm not like a huge Dan Uggla fan, but give him a break. That was just major bad luck for him.

I'm more with SUPACLIPA on this. You can't really do that, especially in the ASG. I kinda understand the first one, that's a hard play, but the second one could easily be knocked down with the glove, even if its not clean. The third error wasn't an actual error, because he recovered it after he knocked it down. And the double play was alright, a lot of people do that no matter the situation, so it's understandable.

Uggla's name is spelled M U D. He's just lucky that Martin and Tejada saved his bacon each time.

That double play ball must have really bonked his noggin' good.

sorry NL, AL wins again... perhaps Boston will forgive Yankee fans for their foolishness at the game.

Did you here when the fans were chanting "OVERRATED" when Papelbon was pitching? I was laughing.

Yanks fans hit a new low - the article on Papelbon was ignorant and inflammatory, and the Bronx parade-goers chanting threats at his pregnant wife was about the lowest I've ever heard of, even for Yankee fans.

top that off by the resounding boos for all Boston starters, including the manager, with all those hall-of-famers on the field...pretty classy again. Then with Pap on the mound, and the game at stake, they chant at him to try to break his concentration; hello, the Yankees are in the AL, numbskulls. Jeezus, a great parade and event were organized by MLb and the Yankees office, and it gets mired up by disrespectful, stupid Bronxers.

I can say I am very proud of Tito and the Sox crew; despite all this crap they went out and performed, including a stellar MVP performance by Drew. Francona went out of his way to take A-Rod and Jeter out mid-inning, to give the home fans a chance to applaud their efforts...AND he saved Mo Rivera for the appropriate time, also bringing him in to massive fan applause. Glad one side of the rivalry actually showed some class tonight.

Uggla just choked period. He got nervous after messing up once and knew that all eyes were on him from there on out and he couldn't pull himself together. He was a mental wreck out there.

Yankees fans did take it a little too far. A little booing here and there is understandable, but c'mon this is the all star game. Oh well, may the rivalry continue!

I didn't mind the booing. It's what happens when Boston is in NY and the same when NY is in Boston. That's just how it goes. The parade situation is another story.

I feel bad for Uggla. He should be thankful it was only the ASG instead of the WS because everyone would be watching that game. 3 errors in two innings the WS could ruin your career. You Sox fans know that 1 error in the WS could ruin your life.

The people that are impressed by his offense, who takes defense into consideration when voting for someone to put him on the all star team. He's a really good player, just last night was pretty bad luck for him.

Yeah. He's only made 6 errors so far this season and he's in the top 10 in the bigs in fielding percentage among second basemen. He is a solid fielder, not a gold glover, but normally you can count on him to make those plays.

The thing is, who was actually booing? It's not like many real fans actually get to go to All-Star or playoff games. The stadiums are usually full of celebrities, wannabe celebrities, and corporate idiots who usually can't name more than a handful of players on their home team.

Tough night for Uggla. I think the initial error got in his head and he never pulled it together. I imagine you could see it snowballing on him, both at the plate and in the field.

Any of you guys make it to the end? I was pretty bored with it and turned the game off after the 6th and went and did something else. For as long as the game went, it really doesn't sound like it was all that well played. More about what the NL didn't do than what the AL did do to win it. But it was cool that Michael Young got the game winner again. Texas may not ever reap the benefit of the AL winning, but you can't say the Rangers don't pull their weight at the AS game -lol- Between Blaylock and Young you've got 3 game winners in the last several years :)

Actually, that's when I started watching (Russel Martin enters game...).

Ah, there were a lot of freakazoids up in the rafters... if you stayed to listen when Pap pitched... and gave up the run, you'd know that the Yankee fans were going to give it to him.
