...how weird it would be to pitch in a home run derby? Your purpose is to get shelled, a complete reverse from the usual goal of pitching. |

I love watching Home Run Derbies, where else are you going to see a pitcher give up 6 or more home runs in a row and be smiling about it? |

It would be fun to pitch to someone like Ryan Howard at a Home Run Derby ![]() |

I know. I'm just thinking about how incredibly strange it would be to have to try to get hammered, as opposed to trying to get outs. |

I think in the 06(I can't remember the year) HRD Paul Lo Duca threw pitches for David Wright. Isn't it usually pitching coaches or BP Pitchers who do that? Lo Duca was a catcher. |

I'm surprised the MLB dosen't have a skill competition like the NHL does, that would be fun to watch(In my opinion). |

I'm not really sure what they could put in it that could be any fun to watch. The one thing I can think of is some kind of double play turning showcase, where the runner is trying for all he's worth to break the other teams' ankles. The problem with that, of course, is the ankle-breaking part. |

A skills contest is very do-able. Just imagine...a sunflower seed spitting contest...a "who has the most ridiculous batting stance" contest...a whining contest...and, of course, a "who can sell more T-shirts while Bud Selig rakes in all of the cash" contest! The possibilities are ENDLESS! |
