Well, here's the thread that many people have been waiting for.

Looks like Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez are going to be going to the Rays. It makes me wonder: Are they trying to make a playoff push, or are they just trying to get fans to the Trop?

Knowing the fact the Red Sox and Yankees went on, or in the Yankees case tried to go on, spending sprees, I think its both. They think they have a shot at the playoffs, and Manny and Damon certainly help some. Still, I don't expect them to win the division unless on of those two has a Vlad type comeback.

One thing's for sure. The Rays are gonna party like it's 2004! :P

On a more serious note, The Jays traded Vernon Wells away to the Angels for Mike Napoli and Juan Rivera. I like the Jays and I hate the Angels, so I like this trade a lot. The Jays got rid of Wells' monster contract in return for 2 players who could put up similar power numbers to Wells, especially in Toronto, a big homer-hitting team. Both of these players are either younger than or the same age as Wells, so it works out even better.

The Jays could easily snag the Top 3 spot in the AL East from the Rays, and I'm counting on the Jays to do so :)

I feel bad for the Orioles now, they don't have a prayer in this division.

They will have a chance in the future, though. They have an excellent farm system and their acquisition of Mark Reynolds gives them a young slugger who'll be potent for seasons to come. The AL East is going to be stacked in about 2013. Maybe every single team in the division finishes over .500 then... :hmmwell:

But what do I know?

Soto, Pena, Castro, Ramirez, Soriano, Byrd, Fukudome, Colvin, Zambrano, Dempster, Garza, Silva, Wells, Wood, Marshall, and Marmol have all shown that they at least have the POTENTIAL to be good, so...
WE HAVE A very tiny CHANCE!!! :danceparty: :jump2: :woot:

The NL Central sure is gonna be unpredictable. The Reds and Cards have already proven themselves, and the Brewers and Cubs have made a variety of moves to better their chances in the division. The 4-way race to the top spot is sure gonna be fun to watch...

Oh, and to the Cards:

GIVE PUJOLS A FRICKIN' CONTRACT EXTENSION ALREADY!!!!! :cussin: :cussin: :cussin: :cussin: :cussin:

Hey, I just need to check and make sure you guys know the Giants are going to repeat?

By the way, I do have bragging rights pretty much the whole season... especially since y'all were pulling for the Rockies so much in my division. :P
