Post subject:  MLB 2010 Postseason Thread
It's that time of year again :D This is my favorite time of year. As a New Englander I enjoy the fall and colder weathers, it getting darker earlier and the MLB postseason

Sadly for me my Red Sox won't be in it, despite all of their injuries, awful bullpen(worst in majors), bad defense, bad seasons from Lackey, Beckett and Wakefield and being in the AL east, the fact that they're not eliminated is impressive(but as a Red Sox fan I still hope they can make an amazing comeback by winning their next 6 games against the Yankees :wink: )


Well the Twins were the 1st team to clinch last night, they've been amazing since the all-star break

The Yankees and Rays are battling it out still but both teams will make the playoffs anyways so...

The Rangers are up 7.5 right now, they're pretty much a lock. So overall the AL is pretty much decided... the NL is a different story

In the East the Phillies have been the amazing Phillies of years past taking a 5-game lead in the NL East

The Reds(yes the Reds!) are going to win the Central. I'll be rooting for them

The NL West race is amazing. an 11-game skid for the Pads have made it the best race in baseball. The Giants lead by 0.5 over the Padres and 2.5 over the Rockies(they're my 2nd favorite team so I'll be rooting for them).

In the wild card the Braves have a 1-game lead over the Padres and 3 game lead over the Rockies. A lot of these will be coming down to the final weekend


So any more thoughts? I remember a few years ago the 2008 mlb postseason thread was very active and I'd like to have some good talk on my favorite postseason of all sports too

That is all.

Realistically, though, I'd say if my team doesn't make it, I'll be a Twins fan, maybe the Rays too.

Ditto on the Chicago comment. I've been saying the Damn Twins line ever since the you-know-what happened last year...Go Rays!

Thank you! There's something I can agree with! I think I saw somewhere that Manny has ZERO ribbies since he joined the team. And I HATE their announcer. "HEGON! HEGON!" SHUT UP!

I don't care much about the White Sox, all I know is that AJ Pierzinski is a complete douchebag

I will be pretty much rooting for the Padres, Braves, Reds, Rockies, Twins, Giants and Rays(not necessarily in that order) down the stretch and into the playoffs. I would absolutely LOVE to see the Yankees get swept out of the ALDS seeing how on the majors message board that they all think they will easily win the world series(it also seems as if a lot of people there hate the yankees there because of their payroll and stuff.. which I pretty much don't completely agree with because of all of the money other teams have)

It'll be weird seeing new teams in the playoffs though. The Reds haven't been there since 1995 :| This would also be the first year of seeing the Giants, Braves or Padres in there for me. I only started watching in 2007, but didn't follow other teams until 2008

NL East: It pains me to say this, but Phillies
NL Central: Reds
NL West: Want: Padres, Prediction: Rockies
NL WC: Braves

ALDS
Twins over Yankees, in 5
Rangers over Rays, in 5

NLDS
Reds over Phillies, in 5
Braves over Rockies, in 4

ALCS
Rangers over Twins, in 6

NLCS
Braves over Reds, in 7

World Series
Braves over Rangers, in 7

Haha! How's it feel to LOSE for once, Cards fan? :P I'm rooting for the Reds. I've gone down to Cincinatti a few times before to watch them, and I for some reason just plain like them. Maybe it's because they were mediocre and now all of a sudden they're good. Nice story.

The Brewers are way gone, so I'll be rooting for the Twins, my favorite AL team.
