I watched the videos and read the info on it on IGN the other day. I'll probably pick this one up for my kids, in particular my 6 year old would probably love the level creator stuff. From the reviews it sounds like the regular puzzle mode gets a bit repetitive, but that's probably to be expected with hundreds of them. I don't know that I'd get it just for myself, but it does look fairly interesting. |

It is a pretty good game. It is hard to recommend anything over smash brothers, though. Much of the games appealing modes are played like a reverse jenga, where you try to destroy something in a limited number of throws or time, there are also a few shooting modes where instead of throwing things, you shoot stuff. Other modes include actually playing jenga and variants with a hand tool, or defending, attacking, escorting the block critters you see. If you don't like puzzle games or multiplayer games, try renting it (then again, if smash didn't have multiplayer, it wouldn't be nearly as recommendable). Very good use of the wii remote motion controls, has challenging puzzle/shooting levels. Very good multiplayer, because it's easy to pick up, and has alot of variety. The most enjoyable mode i've played with friends involves each person having a castle, where you take turns throwing baseballs/bowling balls to destroy them. The level editor is a fun sandbox environment to play around with. The storyline/characters/music are horrible and forgettable, but very kid friendly. On a personal scale, smash brothers = 9, boomblox = 8. |

I think I might Boom Blox up and give it a shot. Can't be all that bad. Looks cool at least. |

if it's that hard of a choice... i don't mind renting first... if i like it, i'll buy it... otherwise... it's a cheap rental from blockbuster... |

Boom Blox has great multiplayer but the single player gets boring after a while. |
