New England Believes Bright Future Is Ahead After a season without Brady last year, the Patriots are ready to come back fully armed, even after going 11-5 but somehow missing the playoffs. On paper it looks like a relatively easy schedule as the highlights on this schedule will be Monday Night football in New Orleans, Sunday Night in Indy, Sunday Night football against '08 East champion Miami and Monday Night football vs the Bills to begin the season. The Patriots schedule will be 4 games against AFC South foes, 4 against NFC South foes, 6 against divisional rivals and then 2 more against the 2nd place AFC West and North of last season. Although Brady's back, they will have a different roster for sure. Rookies Julian Edelman and Brandon Tate look to be a fixture in this offense, along with Fred Taylor and Chris Baker, 2 new pickups in the offseason. Their defense seems a little shaky thought but they've added youth with rookie tackle Sebastion Vollmer and also look promising are rookies Pat Chung and Darius Butler. It will have 100+ catch receiver Wes Welker and dominant Randy Moss as the top 2 recievers on the team and for the running game, they have 4 good choices although a number 1 runner is not truly decided yet. Prediction: Patriots Go 11-5 and win AFC East by 1 Game over the Jets |

![]() ![]() Buffalo Kept to 4 Field Goals As Patriots Win Monday Night Season Opener Week 1(MNF) - The Patriots and Bills both opened their season on Monday Night Football in Gillette Stadium to a low offense game. The Bills scored first in the 1st quarter with a field goal from Rian Lindell but it was all Patriots for the rest of the 1st. Gostkowski kicked a game tying field goal but Ryan Fitzpatrick gave up an interception to safety Brandon McGowan for a 68-yard touchdown return interception, that would be the only touchdown of the game as New England got only 222 yards of offense in Brady's return. The Bills got 295 yards despite 102 yards from Marshawn Lynch and Lee Evans with 9 catches for 92 yards. The Bills were kept to 4 field goals and the Pats iced it off when rookie Darius Butler recovered a fumble by Fitzpatrick on the sack with 1:21 left in the 4th quarter and the Patriots took a few knees for the opening day kickoff victory. - - - -| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | - | T | ![]() ![]() ![]() M.Lynch: 22 ATT, 102 YD, TD L.Evans: 9 REC, 92 YD S.Nelson: 5 REC, 39 YD T.Owens: 3 REC, 16 YDS Fitzpatrick: 21/34, 161 YD, INT ![]() Welker: 6 REC, 41 YD Moss: 4 REC 28 YD L.Maroney: 19 ATT, 60 YD Faulk: 7 ATT, 32 YD B.McGowan: 68-yard INT TD Bray: 18/23, 128 YD Other Scores: SD: 24 OAK: 10 |

Colts Lose Clark For 10 Weeks Indianapolis TE Dallas Clark broke his tail bone Sunday against the Jaguars and is now going to lose 10 weeks. It is a big hit for Indy and Clark will have to be replaced by Tom Santi as the top tight end on Indy's roster. This also means that he will not be available against New England in Week 10 |

![]() ![]() Jets Thwomp Patriots As Defense Shuts Down New England Week 2 -- The Patriots fell to 1-1 on the season as the Jets surprised New England with a 16 point win in New York. Gostkowski kicked the first points with a field goal to make it 3-0 New England but the Jets dominated from there. Thomas Jones was relied on 29 times to run to football and scored a 1-run TD with 4:36 left in the 1st quarter and an interception thrown by Brady set up a 16-yard pass Sanchez to Brad Smith in the 1st quarter to make it 14-3 early. Gostkowski's 21 yard field goal made it 14-6 but with 0:38 seconds left in the 1st half, Sanchez completed a 23 yard touchdown to Clowney to make it 21-6 at halftime. Thomas Jones ran another 1-yard touchdown near the 2nd of the 3rd quarter to make it 28-6. New England struggled offensively although they did get a 2-yard touchdown run from Maroney with 0:24 left in the game(2-point conversion failed). Maroney ran for only 50 yards in the game and may be benched after another not so stellar performance. The double coverage also worked well against Welker who only caught 3 balls from Brady, who now doesn't have a touchdown pass through 2 games, he also threw two interceptions in this game. - - - -| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | - | T | ![]() ![]() ![]() Maroney: 18 ATT, 57 YDS Moss: 7 REC, 74 YDS C.Baker: 6 REC, 44 YDS B.Tate: 2 REC, 56 YDS Edelman: 3 REC, 26 YDS Brady: 25/38, 271 YDS, 0 TD, 2 INT ![]() T.Jones: 29 ATT, 96 YDS, 2 TD Keller: 9 REC, 81 YDS Clowney: 2 REC, 44 YD, TD B.Smith: 2 REC, 25 YDS J.Feely: 3 Missed Field Goals(0/3) M.Sanchez: 17/29, 177 YDS, 2 TD |

Pats Head Back To New England To Take on Falcons Foxburo, Massachusetts -- After a 16 point loss last week to the New York Jets, the Patriots head home to take on the Atlanta Falcons(2-0). The Patriots offense has struggled scoring 31 points this season but the bigger stat is Brady's 0 TD, 2 INT ration through 2 games this season. The Patriots are also starting RB Fred Taylor today instead of an ineffective Laurence Maroney. |

![]() ![]() Patriots Score Late To Beat Atlanta As Offense Shows Up Week 3 -- Coming off a loss in New York, the Patriots returned to play the Atlanta Falcons. In the 1st quarter, a Patriots field goal, a 49-yard touchdown to Michael Jenkins and an 8-yard pass for a TD for Kevin Faulk made up the scoring to make it 10-7 Patriots. This game was filled with big plays(especially for Atlanta) and in the 2nd quarter Moss made a great catch in the end zone for a 54-yard touchdown and a 17-7 lead. But it was Jenkins again for another touchdown, this one for 45 yards for another 7 points. Kevin Faulk then ran it in 7 yards for his 2nd touchdown of the day(1st rushing) but Matt Ryan hooked up with Zinger with 20 seconds left in the half to make it 24-21 Patriots heading into halftime. But Atlanta rallied in the 3rd quarter. Michael Turner's one real highlight came in the 3rd with an 11-yard run on 3rd and 10 to set up a 38-yard field goal for Bryant. New England then got the ball back and tight end Chris Baker fumbled at the Atlanta 45 yard line which would later set up a 15-yar touchdown to Roddy White with 3:33 left in the quarter, Gostkowski would kick a field goal with 1:11 left in the 3rd to cut it to 31-27 Atlanta. The Patriots got the ball up field with 5:00 left in the game but on 1st and goal at the 8, Brady threw a big interception to Mike Peterson to give the Falcons the ball back. But Atlanta went 3 and out giving the Patriots the ball with 3:30 left in the game down 31-27. The Patriots running game has struggled so far this season and struggled in this game early until Maroney broke open for a 30 yard game setting up 1st and goal at the 6 yard line. The Patriots got it to the 1-yard line a play later with a 5-yard run by Morris and that's when Brady hooked up with Kevin Faulk for a 1-yard touchdown to give the Pats the lead with 0:36 left in the game, for Faulk it was his 3rd touchdown of the game, 2 passing and 1 rushing. But Atlanta had a chance but it all ended on 1st down when Jenkins fumbled the football and Jerod Mayo recovered to end any chance of an Atlanta comeback. - - - -| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | - | T | ![]() ![]() ![]() M.Turner: 16 ATT, 60 YDS M.Jenkins: 5 REC, 126 YDS, Fumble, 2 TD T.Gonzalez: 5 REC, 53 YDS R.White: 3 REC, 70 YDS, TD M.Ryan: 16/25. 292 YD, 4 TD, 2 INT ![]() Moss: 7 REC, 127 YDS, 54-YD TD Welker: 6 REC, 63 YDS Taylor: 12 ATT, 46 YDS Maroney: 9 ATT, 76 YDS K.Faulk: 3 REC, 12 YDS, 2 TD B.McGowan: INT A.Thomas: 7 TAK, 1 SACK Brady: 23/33, 273 YDS, 3 TD, 1 INT |

![]() ![]() Patriots Dominate 2nd Half Defensivly, Blow Out Ravens Week 4 -- The Patriots improved to 3-1 and the Ravens fell to 1-3 after New England held them scoreless in the 2nd half in a blowout victory 36-17. The Patriots lead 20-17 at halftime and dominated after as they got 447 yards of total offense in this game compared to only 253 by Baltimore. The Patriots running game also faired well averaging 4.5 a rush, Taylor averaged 6.6 in 7 rushes and Maroney averaged 5.4 yards a carry in 16 attempts. The Patriots drove 76 yards in 7:01 minutes to begin the 2nd half but went 4 and out inside the 5 yard line and only made it to the 2 before Terrell Suggs took down Sammy Morris on 4th down. But Adalius Thomas took all Ravens momentum away by taking down Ray Rice in the end zone, part of a rough day for Rice who ran for -2 yards on his 3 rush attempts. The safety put them up 22-17 and Kevin Faulk caught a 12 yard pass from Brady after the ensuing safety kickoff, one of 4 passes from Brady who threw 78 % of his passes complete on a marvelous day for Brady. Moss would catch a 12-yard TD reception with 5:55 to put them up 36-17 to make it a blowout. Banta-Cain intercept a pass from Flacco, who couldn't get into a groove today, to put the final touches on a nice victory for New England who head out west to Denver next week. - - - -| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | - | T | ![]() ![]() ![]() R.Rice: 21 ATT, 52 YDS M.Clayton: 3 REC, 42 YDS D.Williams: 2 REC, TD D.Landry: 11 Tacks T.Gooden: 1 Forced Fumble Flacco: 12/25, 212 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT ![]() Maroney: 16 ATT, 86 YDS F.Taylor: 7 ATT, 46 YDS Welker: 9 REC, 114 YDS, TD R.Moss: 5 REC, 65 YDS, TD Banta-Cain: INT C.Baker: 3 REC, 25 YDS Faulk: 4 REC, 57 YDS, TD Brady: 26/33, 4 TD, 0 INT |
