MLB logs got boring but an NFL log is different and is easy to do 16 games, and I'm able to simulate and be able to figure out how the scoring was. For games I'll use my old format for game logs.
The game I'm using is Madden NFL 10 for Wii(Sorry sjax) but I won't do that many team updates because it's all somewhat complicated for me and I just got Madden and I don't have THAT much knowledge in the NFL

I won't be doing game logs for the Preseason and the quarters are 7 minutes long'

I'll start sometime later or tommorow

New England Patriots 2009-2010 Season Outlook

September 14 -- The Patriots coming off of a rare non-playoff season, the Patriots feel confidence coming into this '09-10 season. The Patriots went 11-5 last year which was a suprise as they did not have Brady for pretty much the whole season and Matt Cassell led the team to a nice record. But this 11-5 team wasn't able to make it to the playoffs, instead the Miami Dolphins at 11-5 won the AFC East with a better divisional record eliminating New England in week 17 by beating the Jets. But this season Brady is back along with key aquisition, running back Fred Taylor to help the offense make it back to the playoffs.

Trade for Matt Cassel and get Carson Palmer to be his backup. After all, Palmer was his best man in real life. :P

EDIT: Great start so far though.

Hmm you learn something new everyday

and thanks

but one thing that I had trouble deciding was whether or not to actually trade Seymour and release Bruschi because he retired. I may trade Seymour later in the year to Oakland for a draft pick though

Patriots Blow Out Bills In Opener As Edward and Bodden Leave Game

Week 1(MNF) - The Buffalo Bills offense struggled mightily as the Patriots made easy work of their rivals on Monday Night Football. The Bills led the lead with 3:31 in the 1st quarter on an 18-yard field goal by Lindell to go up 3-0 but that's the only lead they would have but it would be tied with 1:05 left with a field goal by Gostkowski in the 1st. The Patriots would dominate in the 2nd quarter though. The Patriots would get a touchdown on a 9-yard pass to Chris Baker. The Bills would fumble next possesion setting up a 46 yard touchdown pass to Randy Moss, but the extra point would be muffed to make it 16-3. Trent Edwards would be sacked by Vance Wilfork late in the 2nd and he would have to leave and be replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick who threw in interception leading to a 36-yard touchdown run by Maroney who made a monster day today with 156 yard, averaging 10.6 a carry to make it 23-3 at half. The Bills were only able to get a pitiful 146 total yards of offense but they scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter on a 1-yard run by Fred Jackson to make it 26-10 at that point and make it a 2 possesion game with 6:37 left in the game. But Kevin Faulk would finish them off completely with a 2-yard run with 1:57 left to win by the final 33-10. But the Patriots defense took a hit as Leigh Bodden got injured in the 4th quarter and is out 11 weeks with a broken jaw.

Penalty Proves Costly As Patriots Cough Up Late Loss To Jets

Week 2 -- The Patriots took a very tough loss to the Jets to fall to 1-1 on the season. The Jets scored first in the 2nd quarter with 2:41 left with a 31 yard pass to Clowney from Sanchez to make it 7-0 but 1 minute later Brady and Moss connected for a 41-yard pass to the endzone for a touchdown to tie it at 7-7. New England took their first lead of the game on the opening possesion of the 2nd half with a 1-yard run by Fred Taylor to lead 14-7. But the Patriots pretty much let it go in the 4th quarter. The Patriots had the ball on the 16 yard line when Tom Brady fumbled, it was recovered by Liyo Shepherd of the Jets and he took it all the way, 84 yards for the score that tied the game at 14 but the Patriots took a lead with a 3-yard run by Laurence Maroney with 4:49 left in the game to lead 21-14. New York would tack on a field goal with 2:17 left to make it closer at 21-17 and thw Patriots were unable to get a 1st down giving the Jets the ball with 1:01 left. The Jets were unable to convert a 3rd down at mid-field and it looked over but Tedy Bruschi made a bad mistake being offsides which gave the Jets one more chance. They converted on a 16-yard run by Washington and got it to the 22-yard line with 1 play left and 0:18 left in the game. That's where QB Mark Sanchez came up big throwing a 22-yard touchdown to David Clowney who had a big game today to make it 24-21. But New England had the ball with 0:14 seconds left. Brady was able to connect to Moss to the Jets 40-yard line and try to set up a long field goal by Steven Gostkowski. It came up just short and so did the Patriots as the Pats fell to the Jets in Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands.

You wouldn't have lost if you had Matt Cassel wearing a pink tutu backing up Brady.

And what's Madden like? I played the four minute demo for the PS3 and wasn't overly impressed. Would you recommend it to a casual football fan like yourself?

I'm not sure whether or not to recommend it but it's not bad, for a guy who's playing his first football game at least. It takes awhile to get good settings but I'd ask sjax too because he's had this game for longer than me

Defense Comes Up Big Late as Patriots Rally To Win

Week 3 -- The Patriots got over their last week last minute loss to the Jets to make a last minute run of their own to improve to 2-1 after defeating the Falcons. In the 1st quarter the Falcons were the only ones to score as Tony Gonzalez's only catch of the game went for 51 yards for a 1st quarter touchdown and then a field goal by Elam in the 2nd quarter made it 10-0 at halftime as Brady struggled to complete passes early. New England got on the board 2:11 into the quarter with a 7 yard pass from Brady to Moss. But Springs had a costly holding call which made a 4th and 11 into a 1st and 10 for the Falcons at the 40 yard line, they would make use of that for a 39 yard pass to Douglas on the next play to give Atlanta a 17-7 but the Patriots make it a 3-point game as Brady connected to Welker with a 2:07 left in the 3rd in the endzone and it was then 17-14. Tom Brady made really only one mistake in the second half and it came late in the 4th quarter from his 20 yard line as he was intercepted by Stephen Nicholas putting them in the Red Zone but the Pats defense forced a 3 and out to set up a field goal by Elam to make it 20-14 and so now a field goal couldn't tie it with 3:23 left in the game. But Brady led the offense as Moss made a key 37 yard catch and after 6 plays and 79 yards, Tom Brady threw to the end zone for Ben Watson for the 11 yard touchdown pass to take a 21-20 lead as New England led for the 1st time today. The Falcons had the ball with 1:42 left and they got it to mid field needing just a field goal. But with a 3rd and 13 from the 39 yard line and 38 seconds left, the Patriots sacked Matt Ryan for a 9-yard loss which made it 4th and 24 with one more chance. Ryan sent it up to the end zone on a hail mary and it was incomplete to give the Patriots the 21-20 close win.

Work on your Outside LB's. Woods suck and he'll cost you late in the season. He can't run or tackle and he isn't much stronger. Is your current SS Meriweather? He is fast, but he can't tackle which defeats the purpose of a "Strong" Safety.

I wonder why the eagles didn't go for the field goal on 3rd down. It is not really that far anyway.

I wonder that too, but the sack literally destoroyed their chances and it was the only time I could sack Matt Ryan in this game

And yes I need someone else besides Pierre Woods, I'll see who I have later

Patriots Lose Another Late Heartbreaker Against Rallying Ravens

Week 4 -- The Patriots took another awful loss, playing the their 3rd straight close games they allowed just one touchdown to the Ravens but 6 field goals haunted them. Welker continued his great touchdown spree with an 11-yard TD on the opening drive but Baltimore would kick a field goal with 0:28 left to make it 7-3. In the 2nd Baltimore was forced to have a field goal after not converting on 3rd and inches on the 20 yard line but this time Brady and Welker hooked up again on another big play, 57 yards to make it 14-6 going into half time. In the 3rd quarter the Patriots went scoreless but the Ravens got two field goals from Hauschka to make it 14-12 going into the 4th and thus far Baltimore had 4 field goals. New England began the 4th quarter with a 5-yard run by Fred Taylor and make it 21-12. It was all Ravens after that, with 4:40 left in the quarter the Ravens got a 17-yard TD run by Willis McGahee to cut it to 21-19. But the Patriots made another mental error as Brady fumbled the ball in Patriots territory resulting in a field goal to give them a 22-21 lead. Brady wasn't able to come through again going 3 and out and being unable to convert a 4th down at the 34 yard line on a 4th and 8. Baltimore was able to score a field goal with 0:16 left as New England used all 3 timeouts preventing the time from running out. But Brady threw up two deep bombs for try to get a miracle and they were both incomplete as they fell to the Ravens 25-21.

Patriots Take Down 0-4 Broncos But Lose Taylor For 11 Weeks

Week 5 -- The Patriots came into Denver and managed to beat Chris Simms and the Broncos as QB Kyle Orton was injured for this game but they lost a big weapon. On his 3rd rushing attempt, RB Fred Taylor injured his leg which will cost him for 11 weeks in the season. Denver took a 6 play opener drive for a field goal in their opening possesion but after Matt Slater had his best return of the season, 64 yards to the 21 yard line but the Patriots failed to convert on the great field position and were stuck with the field goal to make it 3-3 in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter special teams came through again pinning the Broncos to the 4 yard line on a punt by Hanson and with great pressure, Mike Wright sacked Chris Simms in the end zone for the safety to give them a gift 5-3 lead and then with 3:27 left in the 2nd Gostkowski nailed a field goal and it was 8-3. The only real offense the Broncos could get in this game was with 1:56 left after a good run by Buckwalter to the 24 yard line, Simms connected to Brandon Marshall for the 18-yard touchdown and it was 10-8 Denver. But a miracle happened as time expired, Brady threw it up for Moss who caught it and stiffed arm a tackler to go 60 yards for a touchdown and a 15-10 Patriots lead at half time. The Patriots dominated in the 2nd half as the Broncos didn't score in the 2nd half and they kept consistent pressure sacking Simms 4 times. The scoring in the 2nd half was a 3rd quarter 20-yard touchdown by Sammy Morris and then in the 4th quarter, a 14 yard touchdown to Ben Watson and a field goal by Gostkowski iced off the blowout win of the winless Broncos.
