I've known about Dock Ellis for a awhile but this video sheds more light on his no hitter. It's a short animated clip which includes audio from the historic game and an interview with Ellis. Well put together and freakin' hilarious

Apparently some stoners (and researchers) got together and concluded that pitching WHILE on LSD is impossible, though getting high on it the day BEFORE and pitching the next day is possible.

he took another tab early that morning as well as Dexamyl and Benzedrine at the stadium which he says 90% of ball players took. we understand that LSD was outlawed that year but how many people know that amphetamines were taken in the majors?! the game's history of "preformance enhancing substances" going well beyond Babe Ruth injecting extracts of sheep testes and boozing it up during games (alcohol was illegal in that era) is very interesting to say the least and warrants a documentary in itself
