That game looks so awesome, I really want it for Christmas but it is rated M and my mom is kind of overprotective about that kind of stuff since I am only 13. I came up with this argument to try and persuade her to buy it for me, is it good enough?

1. The game is rated M because of Blood and Violence. My mom has no problem with Call of Duty Modern Warfare which is also rated M because of Blood and EXTREME VIOLENCE. I have no problem seeing blood but if it really bothers her, I heard there is an option to turn blood off.

2. The game is about this guy who explores medieval Italy (my mom is Italian) and he has to get the bad guys so the streets and canals of Venice are serene and peaceful again.

3. According to the British game rating system, it is only rated 15, and there are two whole ratings that are more strong and discretionable than this one. So basically, it is the equivalent of a rated T game here in America.

4. The Violence is this game is restricted to just sword fighting. In Call of Duty there are a bunch of really loud violent guns and that promotes war. In Assassin's Creed, it actually demotes fighting, because if you attack an innocent person instead of an evil bad guy, you get penalized .

So what do you guys think? Is this a good enough argument?

I just bought it last night. Haven't played it yet. I'll let you know what else you can add once I get to it. The main character's best friend is Leonardo da Vinci.

Let me just give you a little tip on how to present your arguements straight from my english teacher
Start with your second best reason. Then, go with your 3rd best reason. Now go in for the kill with your best reason, and sneak in the extra 4th reason as you're concluding.

Cool, I'll try that. Mr. Sadler sounds smart. :)

Any other reasons to throw in there?

My older brother is 16, he also wants this game so maybe he can ask my parents for it instead of me asking. Maybe if we both ask then they will see how badly we want it. My cousing has this game and he is 14, maybe my aunt can persuade my parents that it is alright.

The problem I see with this argument is that maybe your mom will not want to get Assassin's Creed AND Modern Warfare 2.

My brother wants Modern Warfare 2, not me.

I went to my cousin's house yesterday and he let me play Assassin's Creed 2 for a good hour. It was so much fun! But I couldn't figure out why it was rated M. I saw no blood and the violence wasn't so bad. I also didn't hear any cursing at all.

What did the thing say along with the rating? (e.g. Fantasy Violence, Comic Mischief, etc.)

Language
Intense Violence
something else

Yeah I know there is some bad stuff in it, but I didn't see any in the hour I was playing, so all I have to do is convince my parents because honestly I don't care about its rating or content as long as it is a good game. It is the parents who are picky and choosy.

I don't like lying to my parents, but for stuff like this where I am trying to convince them something, I don't mind not telling the whole truth as long as I am not lying. :P So I am going to tell them that the violence is not too bad (which is an opinion and that is my honest opinion) and that there is an option to turn blood off (and if that is not true, then that is not me ly ing, that is me not knowing the truth, I have heard you can turn off the blood). I just won't mention the curses because I don't know how to get around that without lying so if my parents bring it up I will just say that I know all of them anyway so it doesn't matter because they hopefully know I am responsible enough not to go around stabbing people and telling them to **** off or something.

Don't let your parents watch the first 10 minutes - several f-bombs and some other swearing. Wait until you're free-roaming Italy. The game even gives you cool educational info on real historical landmarks, buildings and people. And then, when your parents leave the room, you can throw someone off a building and have sexy time with a young Courtesan.
