Ah, sucks to be Rivera. Jackie will always be the best #42.

yeah, it does.
If his uniform number was different he'd be a shoo-in for retired numbers.
Not sure how that'd work though o.O

Playing quality and ability I'd say Rivera. Difference in baseball, no question Jackie. Rivera was honoring Jackie anyway, so it's no problem. He'll be the last player to wear it (Cano would have been, but he could because Rivera had the number. His parents named him Robinson for a reason).

Yay Cal Ripken Jr, is up there.

I remember reading about OH (1) about how he has hit more homeruns than Bonds. Also there is a pitcher in Japan that is a submariner that has to wear knee pads because he gets so low to the ground, he also said that he cuts his fingers and hands cause they hit the ground as well.

I would have liked to see more negro league players, but each one I know a number for ends up being a problem (eg. Josh Gibson shared his number with Mike Schmidt, Oscar Charleston was another number 3, etc.)
