anyone have it, i do, and just so everyone knows, dice-k can throw a gyroball, tyhough he doesnt have it origionaly, just go to edit player, and change one of his pitches till you find gyroball, then their you go (word from the wise: make sure you improve the gyroball before you leave the edit player, otherwise he'll have a dead pitch)

just thought i'd let you gyroball fans (or red sox fans or dice-k fans or realists) know this

Yeah, me and my dad find enjoyment by taking bad teams (Nats, Royals) and trying to make them good

In my unbiased opinion, if you don't consider graphics (and the speed of the game), Power Pros is way more realistic and a lot more fun too. I've never seen the ball physically go through someone's chest in Power Pros once, nor have I seen someone walk directly past the ball without attempting to pick it up (they can make an error on the play in Power Pros, in MLB 09, that's usually a triple, if they hit the ball to the wall, your character pretty much stands there waiting for it to come to a complete stop before picking it up.

Continuing on the defense, it's completely biased, your player with maxed out arm strength will never out throw their player with half full arm strength, if you throw it fast, it's off target. Also, it seems the CPU will throw off target every single time ONLY if you've decided to hold the runner at the previous base.

Then there's Road to the Show, though I admit I didn't like 08 Success as much as 07, I still think they both beat this. Quite simply, it just sets unrealistic goals, especially if you get farther into it, they once sent me down to AA for not hitting 10 Home Runs in a month as a contact hitter hitting .360. There's also the in-game hit and run goal, this game will take away your hard earned points a great deal more than half the time here. If the ball is thrown 20 feet out of the strike zone, you failed and lose points. If you bunt: Failure, if you flyout:Failure. You pretty much have to get really lucky to ever get this goal completed. Oh and I almost forgot the pitcher goals, as a closer there was something like having an ERA under 1.00. As any type of pitcher really you have the chance of getting the in game "Strike out the batter" goal, where the game will penalize you if you do anything else, including giving up a triple play.

The length of the games to me makes things a bit tedious, I don't see me completing a 162 game season without simulation in one of these games, ever.

However, if you can get over all of those things, there are still a few more, but you'll find it an okay game, nothing more, nothing less. No wait, that's just my opinion, who am I to say what you'll think?

.........................ooooookkkkkk................ anyways, i like the show, its fun, especially franchise mode, but that aside, guess what? anyone heard of a VulcanChange? well, i found a pitcher in my game that has one, :? i was just searching for a player to release to make room for randy johnson on my team and i check to see all my AA pitchers pitches to see if they have any that might be a good pitch, and i find this

http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg30 ... hange2.jpg

it makes me wonder how many guys i've passed over in my minors that had awsome custom pitches that i didnt know about, D***** oh well, now i'll be more vigilant

since it was the offseason i'm gonna add this guy to my 40-man roster and give that pitch full stats and see what it does, i mean on the baseball card it says "Commands the Circle Change like nobody else" and when i give Dice-k the gyroball, on his baseball card it says "has an awsome slider thats utterly unhittable" and the gyroball acts kinda like a slider in the show, cept its a flat sharp break, unlike a slider, which breaks to the side and goes down, so, i wonder what this pitch does, i'll tell you guys in a sec after i check it out

The grip of the Vulcan change-up is where you spread your middle and ring fingers apart. The name comes from its resemblance to the Vulcan salute from Star Trek. Joe Nelson of the Rays throws this pitch.

No, he's really not. It's covered in this article, where he also contends that Gagne doesn't throw a true Vulcan.

By the way, if you can't do a Vulcan salute, you shouldn't try to do the Vulcan grip. It would cause an awful amount of strain in the forearm.
