I don't know if it's official yet or how close it is, but I think the Red Sox have officially traded for Roy Halladay. I'm not going by a very reliable source, I just read it on Wikipedia, and it's not on MLB or ESPN yet, but I believe it.

Seriously?? I'm not gonna believe it til a reliable source
But we'd have to have given up some good prospects such as Lars Anderson, Daniel Bard, Bowden, Buccholz and probably one of our starters in our rotation right now

As long as he doesn't come to the NL Central (unless it's the Cubs, obviously), I don't care where he goes.

Well, it was just on his Wikipedia page, and whoever wrote it in there wrote his name wrong... so I dunno.

What the? It's not there anymore, but I promise it was there. It said something like:

"On July 9, 2009, the Boston Red Sox picked up the remainder of Halliday's contract"

And they spelled his named just like that. :P

Check the history page and see why a person deleted it.

People spell a lot of things wrong these days.

But the Red Sox really are interested in him. I wouldn't be surprised if this deal DID happen sometime this week.

I've always wondered what happens if a player gets selected for the All-Star team, but they get traded sometime in-between when they got selected and the day of the game. Would they still represent their former team?

Anyways, I really don't know where Halladay might end up.

Uhh.. Honestly I doubt that would happen, the Sox don't need any more starting pitching. Nor do I think I sox would give up all the prospects. Some rumors are saying he could go to the Phillies. And also let us remember that they are only listening to offers. That by no means means that they are going to trade him. Although, I do think he'll be gone by the deadline.

Halladay could help any team. I would see him going to the Phillies beacause they are competing and desparetly need a pitcher that can help them.

I'm sorry, but Halladay is a top tier pitcher. The Blue Jays won't make it easy on any team. Though his value was higher last year, or before his injury, they Jays would want a minimal of 2 top prospects and a few minor leaguers and a decent batter.

For the Red Sox it would take:

Bowden
Buchholz
Lars Anderson
Ellsbury
Reddick
and maybe Bard

We'd probably have to take Well's and his contract too

I doubt the Jays would ask for that much though....
