Opinions? When I look at two divisions, I think anyone can run away with that division. They are the AL East and NL Central. Let's start with the East. I mean, if you count out the O's, the rest of the teams are all over .500. The Jays could make a big comeback and maybe get second and a wild card spot. The Rays, only 5 games back, could also take the division or WC spot. The Yanks are a game out of first and leading the AL Wild Card. The Red Sox are leading the division and are either in or out of the playoffs. Now, when you look at the NL Central, you have to eventually say best division in baseball, and not just because of Prince, Pooholes (I KNOW THATS NOT HOW YOU SPELL IT), Berkman, D-Lee, Bruce, Oswalt, Carpenter, *insert brewers pitcher*, Demster, and Cueto and Volquez. Its how close the teams are. Its not like the NL West with Manny being Manny, its the Pirates, the last place Pirates that havent had a winning record in what, 20 years? They are only 6 games out of first. The 'Stros are only 4 games out. The Cubbies and Reds are fighting for third, and the Cards and Beerdrinkers are duking it out for first place. I know some might say, "You're only saying that because you like the Cubs and the Rays!!!". No, just look at the standings. They never lie: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp |

I think the AL Central is one of the best divisions in baseball. Somebody different can win that almost every year. |

I really meant this year, and you are right. The Sox have been hot and the Twins could make a jump for it. The Tigers just have to hold on. |

I'd still like to think the AL east is because the first 4 teams are over .500 and in contention and the wild card is gonna come out of the east every year. Plus Baltimore's gonna be good in a few years and realy aren't as bad as people think right now |

You gotta say AL East. Just look at the Jays, for the last three years or so they have had 80+wins, in another division that's 1st place or just a game or two out. Even 90wins doesn't get you the crown in the East. Then on top of that you compete agaisnt two of the highest payrolls in baseball, any top free agents those two easily outbid anyone else. Tampa was just a fluke last season and have no staying power in the East. Name me another division were you play agaisnt two such powerhouses and win 85 games only to be in third place 10 games back? |

AL East is definitly the toughest. Both Central divisions are up for grabs though. |

I would LOVE IT if my Jays were in another division, at least then we would have a chance every year. I think the AL East should be Boston, Yank, Mets, baltimore as a thow in, and someone else other then Rays (what is a florida team playing agaisnt teams in the upper NE?). Have those three teams with mega payrolls duke it out every year. Move the Rays to the South and if ya must send the Jays to the NL to even things out. |

There really isn't a southern division in baseball. |

AL East... It's always a brutal battle to the end. It seems to me every team in that division has a deep rivalry with the other four teams. |

AL East. One of the best rivalries in baseball with 3 of the top 5/10 teams in the AL. |

My Jays in another division would be between 2-4GB, except for NL west were LA is just running away with everything. In the AL East we are already 8GB and already out of it before allstar game. Look at the run diff--for a 4th place team 8gb we are a +35, outside of AL East only Dodger and SF are ahead of us. Al champs Rays are 6GB and falling. Nl champs Phillies would be in 3rd place about 5GB There is no other division that is more out-of-wack then the East. No other division is domiated as badly by two mega payroll teams then the AL East. |

I'm going to throw something out there that may suprise you. This is just my opinion, don't bash me for it. Here are my rankings: AL East - Only cause Toronto is good this year AL West - A three way battle ![]() NL Central - 4 good teams, but the Reds are done. They aren't contenders anymore. NL West - 2 great teams, 1 decent, and 2 crappy NL East - Mets stink, Phillies are coasting, Florida is sorta in it, Braves stink too. And they have the Nats, you know your team sucks when your nickname is a small annoying insect. AL Central - 1 good team, 1 decent team, and the rest junk. Don't call this the strongest because "anybody can win it every year" no that just means that it is so weak that any team has a chance. |
