This is just a thread for talking about this years voting that ends tonite My opinion is that it's just a popularity contest mainly and that's what alot of people think as well There are some close races though but mainly with red sox players but I think Kinsler should start over Pedroia because Pedroia hasn't done that great, 2 homers and a .290 or so average but I'm not sure about the Youkilis/Teixiara battle |

If manny gets in, then everyone who voted for him should shut the hell up about steroids. same with a-roid. |

Hmm, Jacoby Ellsbury's in 7th and if he makes it through a few guys then he's in there. He may not deserve it compared to the others but I'd like to see him go. I'm glad to see Longoria has a great lead over A-Rod because Longoria actually deserves this, not like other votings Jeter deserves it alot this year but Jed Lowrie's in 5th ![]() But who do you guys think should be the starters for the all-star game? AL- Greinke NL- ? Either Cain or Lincecum because they're getting the wins, Haren should start but he's not getting any run support so the wins aren't up where they should be, he has a 2.19 ERA too |

I was actually making a personal campaign to vote Brandon Inge into the All-Star game. Too bad his knee's hurting right now. |

I'm about to flood my votes by using alot of emails from my screen names to vote 25 times for each of the players I want in, I doubt it'll make a major difference buts its worth a try |

but if he's in 4th, that means he'll make it, he just won't start though. they need SOME backups, right? |

Honestly, in my opinion (and probably everybody else's), the voting is like a popularity contest, and I think the Coaches and Managers should decide for both fielders and pitchers. |

"My opinion is that it's just a popularity contest mainly and that's what alot of people think as well" you know it's a popularity contest when Mark McGwire was selected with the most votes for 1b when he hit 205 avg and nothing meaningful in rbi or hr. If they want the fans to vote then let them select the pitchers and make an exhibition game. OTHERWISE keep the fans out of it, let all the coachs pick, coachs for allstar game chose the bench, and let it count for home field advantage. |
