Alright, time to begin guys  :
I walked through the halls frantically, searching for where the baseball tryouts were. I saw two of my best friends, Seth and Mark, who were both sitting in an empty room with their heads in history books, not a sound but the occasional snore. I punded on the door and Seth apprehensively looked up and then looked at his watch. He jumped from his seat and shook Mark so hard he fell out of his chair. I simply laughed and waited as they came out, wiping their eyes and yawning, at an oddly quick pace. The baseball tryouts were today, and we had 10 minutes to find where it was in all of this university. I quickly had a light bulb go off in my head. I said quickly: "Guys, let's go ask the counceler, he'll know where to go." Mark nodded, as did Seth, as we rushed off to the close by guidance conseler. He directed us to the gym. We dashed out of the office, with me leading by a rather large margine. I always was the fastest of us all. We finally made it to the large gym, and stopped and pretended to casually walk in as if we were walking in as normal. The coach stood, looking over toward the clock as it just ticked to the final minute before we would be late. We looked over at the players, who were noticeably in a line-up. We stood, all three of us together, at the right end of the line-up. The coach walked over, looking directly at Mark. He said loudly in a deep, scratchy voice: "Name, position." Mark hesitated for a moment and then said: "Mark Lister, Catcher." The coach nodded and thenstared at me. I didn't even let him say a word before I said: "Zane Porter, Short." He gave a small grin and nodded before looking at Seth, who was turned around, examining the gym. The coach gruted and Seth jumped to turn around. "Huh?" he said, obviously having not paid attention. The coach stared at him and then said: "Name, position." "Oh, uh, Seth Solomon, pitcher." We went down the line, and no-one really stood out, except for a kid who played third. The kid's name was John Haze, and he was extremely muscular. He looked even more muscular than most of the pros, and quite frankly scared me. I disregarded it a the coach began to speak. "You boys will become more than students this year. You will become a team. You will become a cohesive unit with precise playing out on the field. You will be Harmen University's Ribbies! You will hit home runs, strike out excellent batters, steal bases, tag runners out, cause double plays and most of all you will win games. Now, you are not the only players, as you should guess. There are many other players on their second, third, and even fourth year as players on this team. You will need to compete with them, battle with them, and surpass them to make it onto this team. Today, we practice alone. Those players will be introduced to you next practice. Now go train." The line-up jogged to the open gymnasium doors and into the baseball field. I immediately decided to go run the bases some, and Mark and Seth surveyed the field, trying to choose what to do. CHOICES: A. Run the bases with Zane. B. Go lift weights. C. Go talk to other players. D. Throw pitches to other players. E. Join up with Mark/Seth. |

When DS gets on, hopefully he can move this thread to it's own section.. We can then have an "initiation thread" for char intros, and multiple story lines if people wish to jump in and "dungeon master" their own story. |
